Blue Steel would have been my choice

I may be way off, but the blatant theivery of concept that these companies commit makes me feel

Re: Undive? Another Kickstarter watch.
I think the conversation amongst the 'design team' went something like this:
Principal Designer, Catalog Parts Selection: Hey Dude, I'm exhausted, I just spent 45 minutes picking the case, bezel and hands for our new watch from these catalogs. Toss me another brewski.
Principal Designer, Crappy Branding/Bad Typography: Bro, we're not done just yet. We need a name for this thing. I was thinking 'Universal Diver', ya know, like that Schwarzenegger movie.
Principal Designer, Catalog Parts Selection: I think you mean 'Universal Soldier', and it's Van Damme not Schwarzenegger, dumbass.
Principal Designer, Crappy Branding/Bad Typography: Whatever, I think it's cool.
Principal Designer, Catalog Parts Selection: That name is way too long, bro. Our dial printer charges by the letter and we're already planning on putting other crap on the dial like 'Ultimate Explorer', 'Professional', and the company address.
Principal Designer, Crappy Branding/Bad Typography: Bummer dude. OK, how about we shorten 'Universal Diver' to 'Undive'? That'll save us like 45 cents per dial.
Principal Designer, Catalog Parts Selection: Bro, that's brilliant. I'll call Shanghai right now and make it happen.
Principal Designer, Crappy Branding/Bad Typography: Awesome bro.

Seiko dial, Panerai bezel, Oceannaire case, and crayon hands. Who could say no!

Not sure what is more naff, the watch or strapline "let's you stay tough in a dark sea" ....Que? In think the dial looks ok and the case profile is nicely sculpted but that's it.
I think it was said before, trying (or not) way too hard. And I know my eyes are duff but what's the difference between the 2 versions on KS? I can only see a slight difference in bezel colour but that could be the light

I assure you that the above design process takes thousands of hours and lots of evenings and weekends.logan2z wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 5:18 pmI think the conversation amongst the 'design team' went something like this:

Very true. There are a few very good ones for sure, but there are just too many popping up anymore.jeckyll wrote:Agree with a few notable exceptions (halios, aegir etc)59yukon01 wrote:The more I see micros the more I "unlike" them. I'd wear it for $250 but not for that asking price they want. Looks like a great one to play with a bunch of straps.
