I like it quite a bit, but can you make it any thinner?

Perhaps 42mm case size and 13mm thick?gonzomantis wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2017 8:54 amI like it quite a bit, but can you make it any thinner?
Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
If you lowered the WR to 200m is it possible to get it to 12mm?

Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
an interesting thought overall. one thing you can look to do is to do something a little different (w/o being weird, like a lot of micros). and you've seen the success of the oris 65 (and likely the success in a few weeks for the halios seaforth) of a thinner diver. might be a differentiator.
i still want to try out a zenith rainbow diver someday. it's only 9mm thick, auto, 200m.

Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
I think that's a good point. Differentiating styles really help discern between names. I think a fun throwback look would be nice.
As an aside, and totally my own opinion, the brand name at 12 is a lot of text that is usually a brand identifier that matches a marketing campaign. Not that it's bad, but I think just the symbol at 12, with the name on the caseback would clean the dial up and make it less cluttered. This is just my .02.
Best of luck buddy!!

Some people just have a way with words, and other people … oh … not have way.

I'm no longer in the meudd for a Treudd.
Do a field watch like the Vertex, but at this price point.

I would love to do a utility/field watch Ed. What would you like to see though that others have not done or missed?
Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
In my opinion, the audience for a thinner diver is definitely out there. 40-41mm and 12mm thick would make for good proportions, and it would really slide under a cuff easily.gwells wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2017 12:32 pman interesting thought overall. one thing you can look to do is to do something a little different (w/o being weird, like a lot of micros). and you've seen the success of the oris 65 (and likely the success in a few weeks for the halios seaforth) of a thinner diver. might be a differentiator.

In reality no one needs 300m or WR so you could easily sacrifice something there for the sake of a sleeker profile.

41-42mm would be good and there aren't many offerings in that size. 11mm would be a bit thin though. Might be able to pull it off by re-engineering the case.
Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
Two concepts come to mind:
Both 40-41mm, 11mm thin, 48 lug to lug. Drilled lugs.
- like the Vertex style but use printed numerals instead of the fully lumed block style they used. You could even ditch the numerals and do rectangular markers. Same style hands, similar/same dots at 12. No date. 6r15 or SW-200. Screw crown. 200 meters. Thin. Tapered fixed bezel. Brushed finish.
- Sinn EZM style dial and hands (fully lumed). No date or, of you must do a date put it at 6. Same size specs as above. Blasted finish, maybe PVD too.
Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
I'd love to see a 43, no one everyone seems to do one (and its my favorite size). Maybe do both a 43 and a 40-41?
Will give my standard comment about too much text on the dial, would love to see you drop the conversion to feet (as others as starting to do), and just list depth in meters.

A target size of 41mm x 11mm x 48mm L2L with a thin ceramic bezel and drilled lugs should have a ready market.
only accurate watches are interesting
Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
drilled lugs always seems to be the thing that gets cut.
Re: Karlskrona Treudd - Opinion Thread
I'm really interested in this one.
Some thoughts on the design:
- Size is perfect at 43mm dia x 48mm , 14mm thick. Don't change a thing!
- Dial looks good (IMO the printing/wording looks good (not too much, not too little).
- I really like the tapering brushed SS chapter ring. It leads the eye down into the dial and gives the dial nice depth.
- I like the bold numbers and markers of the bezel. Very legible. Important in a dive watch.
- The 12 hour marker looks shorter than the other hour markers on the dial. Maybe bump the logo down so you can lengthen the 12 marker. Or remove the seconds marks on either side of the 12 marker and make the 12 marker slightly bolder (wider) and more prominent on the dial.
- I really like the sword hands on this one.
- I really like the oyster bracelet.
- On the dial I think I would make the Trident logo white to tie in with the Karlskrona name, (leave the "Treudd" and seconds hand blue).
- **Don't make the lug holes too far away from the case to eliminate huge gap for the guys that want to wear a strap.
Looking good!

Revised drawing of the white dial. I changed the bracelet style and tweaked the dial markers and fonts.

Dump all the extraneous text (automatic and 1000 ft) from the dial and I'd buy one.
