New Enzo Mechana ACQUA 500m
New Enzo Mechana ACQUA 500m
Guys, just seeing this news from OceanicTime. Did you check it out also?
Enzo Mechana looks to be creating a new line of watches that are new interpretations
of the original one-off watches. This time around though, instead of vintage movements,
the new models have Swiss ETA movements like the 2824-2. You also have 44 mm stainless
steel cases, 500m WR, thick AR coated sapphire crystal, aged, and distressed black, or
brown dials with surrounding hand painted, and applied unidirectional diver's bezel, helium
escape valve, and etched case-back. There even look to be some cool straps in black, golden,
or distressed brown, or green leather too everyone.
Some pictures for you...

His designs seem to be new iterations of the same model over and over. I'm surprised Maserati hasn't sued him over the Poseidon fork.

Blast from the past. Didn't realize Enzo was still around, making watches.
Re: New Enzo Mechana ACQUA 500m
He's still using those hideous straps. Ugh.

I miss the guy. He gave me an incredible deal on one of his watches after I got burnt by Ocean7, waaaay back when I was a little WIS.
Good for him.

Really dislike the design of that one.
...... And after he shafted some customers out of thousands of dollars for years with excuses on non-delivery I would not buy a watch from him now. I had one of his early 00EM watches. But I wouldn't buy any of his new stuff.

Re: New Enzo Mechana ACQUA 500m

I can see something cool in Rick's watch. To me, it is a matter of perspective. If I judge it from the perspective of "what can one talented guy do with a bar of flat stock and basic metal working equipment" I think it is a cool example. It doesn't have any of the graceful compound curves of a watch case machined and polished on high end equipment, but I think that is the point.

Oh wow, that is just remarkable Rick ! You, and Enzo did an unbelievable job that
is for sure. Every detail grabs you in this subtly bold way from the crazy cool case, to one of a
kind markers, and hands. ..Just like Chris, I think it's amazing how much talent goes into creating
watches like these. Honestly just the ideas amaze ! But then to be able to turn those ideas into
watches, or details within the watches really is something to see.
So much fun getting a chance to see this one here like this. Thanks very much !!!

He wasn't producing what he was selling. Lat I heard people were around the 3 year mark. I don't know he ever caught up. But compared to MKII that is nothing now.

Oh man. He was my first really positive contact in this hobby. He sold me a watch at 1/2 off after I got burned by Ocean 7. Always liked him.
Bummer.
