Marathon (Rolex #23-9291) spring bars
For a long time these spring bars have been called Marathon bars since they came stock on most of their watches. They are actually Rolex #23-9291 spring bars. Scurfa also uses them, and a few more companies. I have them on most of my Seiko divers that have 20mm drilled lugs.
The only disadvantage about these spring bars is how thick the middle section is (2.0mm). On a Rolex if you have a strap thicker than 1.2mm then they won't fit without a lot of work.
I talked to my manufacture and came up with a solution to this issue, that is making them with a middle section that is 1.78mm thick.

Good stuff. Same guy we discussed or new?
I thought Marathon bars had tips that were about .09 and Rolex bars use tips that are 1.2 (which also fit Seiko). ???

Awesome! Was about to ask about quality spring bars.
Have had two watches that I basically bumped pop their spring bars and fall to the ground in the last 6 months...

I use to buy Marathon bars and they fit my Sub. So unless they have some that .9mm and 1.2mm tips also then I don't know. I also used those same spring bars on my MM. EDIT: you are right Ed they are all .9mm. Which I already carried that size. So maybe these are enhanced Marathon bar!!!
Most Seiko divers with drilled lugs use a 1.2mm tip. The Seiko bottle cap is the only one I have seen that used a .9mm end.

That will piss you off for sure. Or at least it would to me.

The smaller tips will certainly fit a Rolex or Seiko, they just move around in the hole. I think many of us have done that without realizing in our early stages of the watch disease. ;-)toxicavenger wrote:I use to buy Marathon bars and they fit my Sub.
