It appears my worries this would be too short to fold over the tail are unfounded. 8" wrist and it folds over just fine

Yeah, specs and price are well balanced. $599 shipped for an ETA 2824-2, 42mm, 22mm lugs, 48mm lug to lug, 11.5mm thick, screw down crown, 100 meter WR, AR coating inside sapphire crystal, and sapphire caseback. I almost bought one on day 1 when I saw it on IG, but held off. A friend got one and says he loves it.

I remember those hands from another watch. Didn't like them on thst model but looks great on this one.

Took a look at Helson website. There's quite a few options under this model type. Many have familiar looks.
