I just paid for all the parts for the movement to get it back to operating status. My cost is right at $1k. I have to do an aftermarket crystal for it. The lowest I found on a factory crystal is $540. So I will pass on that for now. Time to find some hands for it.
Atta boy, T!
Now get a nice Crystal Times sapphire and slap some hands on it. Forget refinishing the bracelet, that watch is a walking billboard for ToxicNATOs. :salute:
Once you've gotten some good PR, part out that sucker before it swallows you whole.
I don't give a shit about the bracelet honestly. I will get the lugs drilled though.

How are they going to fix those lugs?

You won't believe this. The bezel came in yesterday and my wife received it. We are having hardwood floors installed in our house, so it is a total disarray right now. I accidently grabbed the manila envelope it was in and threw it away. The trash truck came this morning, they told they will dump it all out of the truck if I want to dig through it. I think I just lost $175.

take them up on the offer and have someone film you recovering the bezel from the mound of garbage.
this will be worth way more than $175 in PR for your brand.

I think you should post a YouTube video, mocking the original one of course, asking for money because you threw the bezel in the trash....lol

I have a call into the trash truck. Now I am waiting to see if my wife can come home and cover for me.

This watch is cursed.

Better than the toilet fiasco I guess?

In a way. The Seiko was given to me by Art, so I didn't want to lose anything that was a gift. This bezel was $175.

Well, at least the thread title still befits the story!

I'd dig thru the trash for that. And if it's still in that envelope, it shouldn't be too difficult to find. Maybe. Unless an office just "liquidated" all of its supplies.

Now assembly has started. We knew that as this happens we will notice certain things will be damaged we couldn't see before. So we just had to order a train wheel and second wheel. Another $150 into the movement.

Oh and USPS lost my aftermarket hands and crystal. No they weren't insured since they were aftermarket versions.

But we are still going forward.
