Fuck the watch. Terry's voice is an aphrodisiac.

I'm downloading that shit and having it as my ring tone.

What's the status on the movement? I can't imagine that a near functional Rolex movement wouldn't be worth more than $600.
Soon I will find out.

I hope you can use the dial as-is - great character and great story.
I am thinking the same. So many options.

I may have missed it, but what happened to the bracelet? Does that still exist?
No clasp or endlinks.

Sweet. I like the natural bark bracelet.

This is so cool, T. How bad is the movement, if the shield is that dinged up? I assume those Parachrome hair springs are more resilient than normal, but damn. Do you not have to replace a ton of the movement? I'll be impressed if your guy gets that thing to keep even remotely good time again! :salute:

Hell, my Seiko NAFT has loose parts in the case and still runs fine!

This will be an interesting fix!

Good stuff T, keep us posted, this is actually very interesting.
I'm surprised by the amount of damage to the case back & shield!

Roger if it was a Timex it would have been loud enough for them to hear it and swerve around it.

This thing is worse of than I expected. I hope you can get it running again. The underside of the case lugs look brutal. I imagine you'll need to metal smith it a little just to keep it from digging into your wrist with the jagged edges.

I'm starting to doubt this story about the watch being run over by a car. Given the damage to the caseback and shield it looks like he took a sledgehammer to it.

I don't know it has drag marks on it.

Years ago I was riding a road bike on Highway 40 in Maryland and some assholes grab the back of my bike and ran me into a bridge barrier. My watch looked the same afterwards. :crybaby: And of course so did my skin. :banghead:

Y'know, that's an interesting idea. Sort of like when people get tat sleeves over scars. You could just engrave that thing.

Cost of engraving probably more than refinishing it lol
