Rubber strap ideas?
Hey guys I still have the rubber straps on order from BC the 284's but it seems like it is on the slow boat from china.
So recently I was given the contact to a US rubber manufacture who will make me rubber straps. But I need to give them a 3D drawing of it so I can get a price on them. Any ideas on what style of rubber strap you guys would like to see? I would rather not do a copy of something current but even if there is a cool ass retro strap it might work. Once I get them a drawing then they can get me a price.
Thanks guys.

RubberB for less than $250
Re: Rubber strap ideas?
What type of rubber material? ISO rubber quality? Would love to see a competitor to Crafter Blue. Rubber straps made specifically for SKX, SRP, MM300, Sumo, Shogun, Pelagos, Black Bay, DSSD, and more. The casting mold is probably rediculously expensive I'm sure.
Re: Rubber strap ideas?
Rubber strap with a deploy clasp would be sweet
Re: Rubber strap ideas?
One of the most comfortable rubbers I've ever fitted is the Omega strap on the Planet Ocean 8500s. They're thin, malleable, and super versatile with water resistant stitching - they're equally at home with a dress shirt as a diving suit imo. The key to those straps is the thinness and taper , I think.

Just make sure it fits a 6.5" wrist please. Or have a short and regular length.

Pics might help the man out here, folks.
I've seen but never worn the Omega rubber Zack mentioned. That would be a nice, versatile strap IMO. I like to wear a rubber strap during the week, but too many of them are bulky and too sporty for a blazer and slacks, much less a suit.

Thin Hirsch Pure style, but with lines down each edge like the Iso...no holes though. Make sure it has the concave underside though...almost like a vintage IsoFrane, but without the holes. If that interests you, you can borrow my vintage as a model.

I'd like to see a retro strap in a pliable rubber, like the rubber on the borealis frane, a tropic or a waffle. If you don't have one I have an extra I could send to you so that you have an idea what I'm talking about.

Terry already offers an IsoFrane style strapjrmartins wrote:I'd like to see a retro strap in a pliable rubber, like the rubber on the borealis frane, a tropic or a waffle. If you don't have one I have an extra I could send to you so that you have an idea what I'm talking about.

Re: Rubber strap ideas?
I've always liked this style of rubber strap. The one pictured is obviously designed specifically for the IWC Ingenieur ME but it might be cool to have a version of this strap with more standard dimensions. I'd love to have one that would fit my 3227, although I realize that would have very limited appeal.

I know, I'm talking about the material used by Borealis. Personally I would like a retro style rubber. Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone.andrema wrote:Terry already offers an IsoFrane style strapjrmartins wrote:I'd like to see a retro strap in a pliable rubber, like the rubber on the borealis frane, a tropic or a waffle. That's a cool looking strap. One like that fitting normal 22mm lugs I'd buy.logan2z wrote:I've always liked this style of rubber strap. There are a plethora of straps out there, so do something different. Crafter Blue is on to something with their fitted straps for Seikos, and are the only ones doing so I think. Just a thought, but there are a lot of Seiko owners out there.

To tell you the truth the Borealis version is a really nice strap and is exactly like the Iso without the smell. So good suggestion.jrmartins wrote:I know, I'm talking about the material used by Borealis. Personally I would like a retro style rubber. I want to try something a little different to give more options without being labeled a copy.

Re: Rubber strap ideas?
Something waffle-like in the vein of the MM300 strap but with better material would be interesting.

Re: Rubber strap ideas?
Agree on this. Vented, with a waffle pattern, top-grade natural rubber. Perfect, and I bet you'd sell a lot of them to Seiko fanboys to put on their NAFTs, tunas, and SKX007sChocodove wrote:Something waffle-like in the vein of the MM300 strap but with better material would be interesting.
Rubber strap ideas?
....or a tropic style, slightly thicker but not Iso thick, and designed for 2.0 mm spring bars. Give it a screw style buckle, lots of vent holes, and two lengths (s-m & l-xl). It's a popular design that can work on both retro and modern divers.
Re: Rubber strap ideas?
This too. The world needs a tropic style rubber that accepts far spring bars.hoppyjr wrote:....or a tropic style, slightly thicker but not Iso thick, and designed for 2.0 mm spring bars. This in 22mm that takes the fatties would be sweet. Brushed buckle of course.

Yeah I'd rock a Tropic style strap that takes the fatties.
