ToxicBOND - Initial Review

Post by andrema » Thu Apr 28, 2016 5:49 pm

I've been wearing the ToxicBOND (traditional) on my SDc for a week now, so I figured that I would provide you guys with some feedback regarding these straps.

As you guys know, I am a fan of Terry's regular "NATO" straps, so there is a relatively high bar when it comes to comparing his new straps to his existing products. Well...IMO his BOND line straps are FANTASTIC! I actually have no thoughts of taking the SDc off of this strap in the near future and putting it back on it's bracelet or on my RubberB. Being the idiot that I am, I probably will, but it is certainly should not be perceived as an indication of the comfort of these staps

Pros:

The material is soft and feels nice on the wrist. The thickness is very similar to the standard ToxicNATOS straps, but it is not as firm. Although this may not be as durable as the standard straps, I do not intend on beating the hell out of my watch...so it definitely should work fine and last a long time.

The hardware is very similar to the standard ToxicNATO, with squared off edges and substantial size. The quality and the finishing is nice.

The CS...of course...the best way that I can describe it is as a "delivery reach-around". Terry over delivers...period.

Cons:

The strap has too many holes. If Terry could work with the supplier to reduce the amount of holes near the tail of the strap, it would look "cleaner" when worn.

Not enough colors  - I think this could be his "light duty" or "pussy" line. I really enjoy wearing this style strap.

Like I said, it's a fantastic strap! I will probably end up doing a "Art castration" to it, but that is the only thing that I may change...

Great review and killer pics bro!!!! I had them add more holes towards the other end for the smaller wristed folks but I should have had around 3-4 of them deleted from the other end. The hardware rocks on these and they are about double the width of my regular hardware.

I call this nylon the "Terry cloth" version

You're not wrong. They have more watches with non-standard lug widths than any brand I know of. I guess so they can sell their $200 natos. But it won't be to me. :snooty:

The speedy comes in at 20mm, but that seamaster definitely is a looker.
