Yes it is going for a little ride  . This is a strap that I eliminated the extra layer of fabric.

I used some high speed Air Force blue duct tape on it :salute:

After checking everything out I decided it need one more wrap of tape

And were off

I'm pretty close to lopping the extra loop off of the toxic on my 015 tuna. I just need uninterrupted time when I'm not tired and half asleep. That doesn't happen often.

Well it stayed on for about 3/4 of a mile but the pavement tore the tape off of it

I pulled the buckle tongue off to show you damage. It bent the buckle in the middle and one of the keepers a little bit. All in all it is tough as hell and didn't break.

Oh and of course I had to do some tire spinning in the snow for effect.

Terry man- this one pass strap speaks to me.
I do this to most of my straps. I never wear a reg NATO to work- always a modified one.

So the tongue is missing and some metal bent. But look at that strap material! You can't even tell it hit the force of a tire on snow and road. Hell yeah! :headbang:

So advantage of one pass strap over regular nato? Shave a millisecond off mounting your watch?

I do it because it's more under the radar- and the second set of hardware is just for looks anyhow.

Right, and taller watches sit lower on the wrist.

What am I missing? If you take off the bottom loop you have made it into a Zulu. Why do that? Do you like the different hardware that much? Just buy a Zulu with fat ring loops.

The extra loop keeps the head snugly in place and strapped onto the wrist in case of one springbar failure. There is a definite advantage.

You need to publish stuff like this on your website, folks will get a kick out of it.

I like Zulu straps, but find the hardware a bit bulky. This looks like a great alternative.

It's not a Zulu.
Zulus are normally more bulky and the hardware is usually super thick and rounded

That's a new strap. He'll have to get 500 made.

I prefer the look of rounded Zulu hardware but I agree it's kind of bulky. Better though without the extra loop.

I will just cut it and mod it myself. It is still a nato but they call it RAF style with the newer hardware but it is a single layer. There are a few guys here that do that already, I think Jeff and Art told me about modding this way.

Lol, I've been circumcising my NATO/Zulu straps since the beginning to center the buckle under the wrist.
