Jacob simply has a hard on for "outing" these guys somehow as if they are conducting some nefarious deeds in their business.

Bremont does seem to be approaching Kobold levels of brand animosity

I simply think they're playing a lot of you for fools with all their made up shit and lame LEs, but you seem happy so I won't mention it again.

i simply don't know why.....they are about the BEST brand i ever had to deal with....they take better care of their customers than any i have seen, seem like easy going guys according to those that have met them etc....I really don't get the hate.....its easy to hate brands where the CEO is a tool, they have shit Service etc.....But Bremont?? Im guessing its from guys that don't have a dog in the race, haven't owned one, haven't dealt with Bremont at all...
Re: New Bremont Military LE: USAF A-10 Warthog
I don't feel a fool, I feel i like a watch, i buy the watch.....Im no Military guy,,,,,so its nothing to do with that whether its real military LE or Made Up Military LE. Could care less really,JP Chestnut wrote:I simply think they're playing a lot of you for fools with all their made up shit and lame LEs, but you seem happy so I won't mention it again.

Re: New Bremont Military LE: USAF A-10 Warthog
That's the perfect reason to buy a Bremont. It's a shame that the principles think these gimmicks add value to the brand, because the core watches stand on their own merits.ericf4 wrote:I don't feel a fool, I feel i like a watch, i buy the watch.....Im no Military guy,,,,,so its nothing to do with that whether its real military LE or Made Up Military LE. I agree they do stand on their own, as does the after care....
Re: New Bremont Military LE: USAF A-10 Warthog
I've met Nick English (real name Nicholas) but not Giles (first name Edward - damned poser!) Nick is either a hell of an actor or a really down-to-earth guy who's passionate about Flying, England, and Watchmaking (not necessarily in that order).
OR ... (I'm going to regret this) ... these two "charlatans" have pulled the wool over the eyes of (in half-arsed chronological order) Sir John Ayton, COSC, Harrods, Walpole, Peter Roberts, The U.S. Navy Test Pilot School, Martin Baker, Norton Motorcycles, Jaguar, the Royal Navy (who took Bremont's nefariously obtained Victory LE proceeds for their National Museum), Land Rover (who ordered a bespoke Bremont and presented it to HRH Duke of Edinburgh - Queen Elizabeth's husband), Bletchley Park (another duped organization who took Sterling suspiciously donated to them from the proceeds of the Codebreaker LE), New Scotland Yard (the fools commissioned an LE!), Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp who granted Bremont approx $10M with their Global Connections Award, the British School of Watchmaking (which Bremont sponsors for - no doubt - some completely selfish reason), Boeing, the Wright Family Foundation (another foolish organization thinking they are benefiting from Bremont Wright Flyer sales), Chivas, the Prince's Trust (Prince Charles) who will receive the proceeds of 12 Chivas LEs sold at auction (these English brothers are so slippy!), over 40 military units and squadrons from multiple countries who requested LEs, and more than a dozen expeditions etc that Bremont has sponsored.
Worst of all, Tom Cruise wears their watches. That proves all the haters are right.

I don't care how much you like these guys. They could offer to blow me every day for eternity and it wouldn't make up for the "in house" movement fiasco. You're obviously invested in the brand, so their marketing clearly works on a subset of consumers. Congrats on taking over for Eric as the number one thread starter in this sub forum.AntonioPD wrote:I've met Nick English (real name Nicholas) but not Giles (first name Edward - damned poser!) Re: New Bremont Military LE: USAF A-10 Warthog
I don't like these LEs, but I don't know Bremont for these specifically. These are akin to what Rolex did for Tiffany's or Comex back in the day. Small subset of people to whom the extra, frivolous decorations on the dial will matter. Most others think it's an eyesore. But for that specific group, it's probably special.
Kinda like the HTFU Ennebi as well. It's a special watch to a small group. No reason (or intention) for everyone to love it. No reason to hate the brand for it either.
Don't know why that's a hard concept to grasp.

I don't particularly care one way or another about the whole LE thing, especially if it is for a group that wanted it made up for them then who am I to argue? For what its worth Bremont seems to have a good rep for customer service and a loyal fan base so they must be doing something right. Personally though I haven't found one I like the looks of enough to buy. Please feel free to buy what you like though with your money. Seems simple enough.
cheers,
Keith

Re: New Bremont Military LE: USAF A-10 Warthog
Wow. Polar opposites all over this thread.
Seems like we have a rotating crew of Bremont love on here.
Watch of the week for the new owners. Meh, for those who don't like them.
Buy what you like. Just don't expect everyone to oooh and ahhh every time.

Laughable...they told everyone they produced an in-house movement too.ericf4 wrote:i think the government IS buying them as when i tried to change the warranty on my B52 into my name (as I've done on another Bremont), Bremont told me they could not as it was purchased by the Government and not a person.

So, do you get BJ per watch owned, or one per day only?
