Bremont Service Rocks

Post by koda240 » Mon Jan 06, 2014 7:45 am

As many of you know I recently grabbed Fred's (rain_maker) SM500. Once we struck the deal, but before I had it in hand I noticed that day/date wheel was white, but on the website the date wheel is black (there was some brief discussion on this recently). Needless to say, I was curious. I contacted Bremont directly and they said the white date wheel was either pre-2008 or a prototype. I was not hip on having a prototype or a watch that could need service pretty soon.

I know a watch can sit at an AD for a bit, but being stamped late 2012 I was still unsure. Especially since not only was the watch mint (thank you Fred), but the AD has only carried the brand for 2 years.

I had sent a pic of the warranty card to the gal at Bremont, but she had already answered all the questions I was expecting. On their own accord this lady researched my watch and I received this email this morning:

I have looked into the history of your timepiece and can confirm that it was built in 2012 and sent to Fox’s Gem shop, Bremont Authorised Retailer.

When the Supermarine movements are assembled, they are all fitted with the white day/date and are replaced with the black accordingly. I can only assume that this this is a very rare occurrence and your date disc was not replaced. Your timepiece with the white day/date disc is very rare and will be sought after by watch collectors. However, if you would like to have the day/date replaced with the black, I would be happy to arrange this for you at no charge.

Aside from the fact that I have become a recent Bremont fanboy since receiving my watch I am equally impressed with their service. I don't plan to update to a black wheel as I never cared either way. I just wanted to know the history of why it was white.

 to Bremont and I must re-thank Fred once again for a excellent transaction.

I had an issue with the buckle on the rubber strap and Emma addressed the issue without delay. A first class experience from my end.

I like the white too.
"30ish years of martial arts and I've actually had the honor of training lots of LEO, spec ops and even SEAL team 6 on base, fitness training, not martial arts, but still the coolest thing I've done.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

Thanks for letting me play! "
