2000 is a little bigger and thicker than the 500. Although I do like the red highlights on the 2000, the 500 fits my 7 1/4" wrist just finePanerai7 wrote:What say you on s2000 vs s500?

I dig the Bremont's and their originality. I don't care for some of the stupid prices of their LE's though and some of the branding of the LE's.

You had the old strap. I also felt somewhat cold with the black dial and that strap. I'd really like a blue dial someday.aztecknight wrote:I was underwhelmed by the SM500. Something just didn't click. Maybe the logo, maybe the strap? Don't know, but it didn't do much for me.

Thought these were nice before Eric, but after watching the video, and hearing
how Bremont basically pulled out all the stops it's even more impressive now.
Talk about bells and whistles. Very cool Eric !
Thanks for finding, and posting this video !

I have some personal experience with the MBII. Granted, this is a sample size of 1, so take it with a grain of salt, but...ericf4 wrote:i wonder how scratch resistant the steel really is as claimed....anyone have any info?
The watch is still basically flawless. I did just collect my first hairline on the AR, approx 1-2mm in length, as the result of a fall into a stucco wall. Other than that, the watch looks as new. It's been in regular rotation for over 3 years now I think, and was my daily driver for the first year and a half that I had it. It's been hiking, shooting ( a lot ), rappelling, mountain biking, and working and still has yet to get a ding.
To be fair, I have a Damasko too and that watch is also cosmetically perfect. Although the AR on the Damasko looks as you'd expect it to after a few years of regular use, iow it's a bit beat up. Not so with the MBII.

Mine too - or at least it's one of my "impossible dreams." I really love the Bremont story and the lengths they go to to provide a super-tough, high quality product. Kind of cool too to see Britain return to quality, precision timepiece making. If you haven't read Longitude, I highly recommend it.fastward wrote:

Re: AHh Hell Bremont, I give in already
im now trolling watchrecon lookin for a bremont 2000 or a 500.......I may throw my Anonimo Tru Blu Cronospoio Mark II up on the forums for sale or ebay to help fund....
Re: AHh Hell Bremont, I give in already
Hey how do you tell on a 500 whether youre getting the old rubber strap or the new one? Comments indicate that the new one is the preferred one.
Re: AHh Hell Bremont, I give in already
I liked the 2000 much more than the 500. It felt like a modern big brother.
The straps.... Was never really a fan of the old rubber.
Still waiting for a no date version.

after long talks with a salesman wearing one, I heard enough to stay away and just admire. Tales of expensive maintenance, oil filed case he had popped in an airplane as he tried to adjust time for new zone... on the ground yet after landing.
He loved it but lost it when his company stopped carrying it. A large well known store in South Coast Plaza, Newport Beach

Sounds like you found a salesman that didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.Tomsimac wrote:after long talks with a salesman wearing one, I heard enough to stay away and just admire. Does Bremont use an oil filled case? Also, most watch salesman would be equally good at selling women's shoes - it's rare to find one who actually likes watches and gives a shit to learn something about them.CGSshorty wrote:Sounds like you found a salesman that didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.Tomsimac wrote:after long talks with a salesman wearing one, I heard enough to stay away and just admire. Dig the brand--have had 2- the MBII and Alt1C...
Really like the cases and hard to find a company with better customer service..
Had an issue and they were all over it...
Really like a black or minty bezel SM500...
-------------------
the negative for me has been the straps--I know, I have beaten a dead horse on this..
Get a short rubber strap..and shorten the standard strap...
Pricing---crazy price for a blue U2....
