Seiko Regulation (6r35)

Post by Chocodove » Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:46 am

Looking for someone with the ability to regulate a 6r35 and then pressure test, preferably who won’t take a long time to do it. Any recommendations?

My SPB147 is en route to Duarte for a mod. I also requested a regulation; mine was running very slow. He’s always an option.

Thanks, Ralph. I actually didn’t know Duarte did regulations, I thought it was just mods. Good to know for the future.

In any case, this now appears to be sorted in true DWC way.

Thanks!

If it's out of spec and still covered by the warranty, will Seiko do it?

I believe so. However, this one is just barely within spec (-13 or so). From what I understand they won’t touch it unless out of spec.

Good luck with that. The few times I've had a 6r "attempted" to be regulated they just slowly resort back to their old inconsistent piece of crap habit.

Hate those 6r movements with a passion.

I've been lucky with 3 of 4 6R35 so far. One was too fast for my liking but still within Seiko specs.

My SPB143 is one second fast a day. Been wearing it almost daily since 12/23/20.

The 6R15 on the other hand game me nothing but headache a few times. Never again.

Seiko movements seem highly sensitive to position. Experiment with resting it in different positions at night to self regulate. I’ve had luck doing this with 4r movements.

Yeah with the low beat rate they can really be hit and miss on positional variance. I’ve had to have almost every Seiko I’ve ever owned regulated and they always change over time. I tuned my SARB033 recently and I hope it holds longer than most. That one seems to not be affected much by positional variance(definitely luck of the draw) but I was able to get it much better. It used to run slow.

I actually ended up selling the watch (with timekeeping disclosed) :)

Glad to know that Duarte is a good resource for this for the future.
