New 2020 "King Turtle"

Post by 3migo » Wed Jan 15, 2020 8:24 am

Anyone else see this?

Reportedly being released January 18th. Ceramic bezels, sapphire crystals. And now with a cyclops, too.Image

I almost love it... but so often Seiko seems to do that one thing that puts me off (in this case the cyclops).

They are already on sale on Ebay for $550-600.

Definitely don't like the cyclops, I also don't like the cream colored seconds hand on the black and green ones...

I generally like the cyclops, but not in a day/date configuration like this. Not sure why, but it looks off to me.

New bezels for the new Turdles? I’ll definitely be getting the green one.
The cyclops is stupid, but an easy fix.

Love them and it's enough to get me to think a NAFT works for my wrist for the 10th time, but as said the cyclops can GTFOH.

This would have been a great opportunity to make a 6105 at a similar price point, which would have sold like crazy, but instead they make an unobtanium LE of that, and give us this...

New 2020 "King Turtle"

Post by spring-diver » Sat Feb 01, 2020 12:18 pm

My AD just got these King Turtles in yesterday, so I drove over there today to check them out.

They’re legitImage

Image

I’m really digging the green version Image

The waffle dial is pretty cool IRL Image
The brushed hands & hour marker surrounds are a nice touch as well. The new bezel design with ceramic insert is executed very well with excellent bezel action. Much better than my 777 & PADI.

The candy bar cyclops is a no go Image

Image

Much nicer under sunlight.

Image

The special edition Great White dial just pops in the sunlight Image

Image

Of course I had to try the black dial too.

Image

I gave the Arnie another look Image

Image

Besides the candy bar Seiko did a great job on these Image

That cyclops is downright obnoxious. Otherwise they look great.

Are the straps silicon or rubber?

I really like the green version.

They are silicone. But seiko does a very nice silicone. Doesn’t really attract lint and is very comfortable.
