For both 4R and 6R?
4Rs are low tech. 6Rs are just a POS.
I never time my watches, but now I want to check my two turtles (4Rs) and the SBDC061 (6R). I've mentioned before that I would love an SBDC061 with the 8L35 (mm300) movement and a better (ratcheting) clasp. And when I say better, I mean better than the mm300 ratcheting clasp.
Going back to the original post... I don't think the price of these new models is too bad. I know the street price of regular turtles is around $280, but the MSRP is way more.
Omega / Tudor / Rolex / Sinn / Doxa / Seiko

6r = BS. I will not buy another watch with this movement. If you bought one with exceptional & consistent timekeeping consider yourself lucky and go buy a lottery ticket. 4r is much better imo.

Good point. For those interested in this one, just from personal experience - I’ve had much better (big difference) timekeeping reliability in the 5 or so 4r Seikos that I’ve owned over any of the higher priced 6r’s.
I think it's down to QC. The duds I've had were swimming in oil.
Some have been as dry as a drum also.
So after a maintenance by a competent watchmaker they are OK, or do they have issues due to their design?

It is cheaper to replace it with a NE15 and they have been great. We have yet to rebuild a 6r15. We just pluck and chuck them. I think I have had 11 of them come in for service now.

Sumo, Shogun, Cocktail Time - just from memory and that I’ve owned
Nowadays, basically anything in the $550-$1000 range for Seiko
