New Seiko Field watch LE
Well this one is really nice, love the model with the fauxtina and bracelet. Great size and dig is date only instead of day/date.

Re: New Seiko Field watch LE
Just checked- from what I can see it is not sold out. Also I can’t read Japanese so there is that. But I added one to the cart then all was lost... need an English page.

Re: New Seiko Field watch LE
I think they look good. I wonder if 40mm is a bit too large for me given the relatively larger dial and thinner bezel that accompanies most field and dress watches. I'm also not sure if it has a sapphire or hardlex crystal or a screw down crown (honestly, the only thing I don't like about the Hamilton khaki field is the lack of screw down crown).

Hardlex, no screw-down crown, display back.JBZ wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2019 6:50 amI think they look good. Let’s not forget this is not a 6r but rather a 4r watch. Maybe the perception is that this is a 6r watch with the exception of sapphire, screw down. etc?
I have my father-in-laws KS from the early 70s and it’s still running without a screw down or sapphire.

Good point. For those interested in this one, just from personal experience - I’ve had much better (big difference) timekeeping reliability in the 5 or so 4r Seikos that I’ve owned over any of the higher priced 6r’s.sierra11b wrote:Let’s not forget this is not a 6r but rather a 4r watch. Same unfortunately.
I don’t know if the 6r35 has any worthwhile improvements other than added PR but that’s what will be going into the next generation of alpinists according to Seiya. Hopefully they look as good as these.
Problem is it’ll be twice or three times the price of the 4r and I’m 6r shy now. That’s what makes the 4r so attractive right now for me.

Re: New Seiko Field watch LE
I’ve yet to be disappointed by a 4R movement yet. I much prefer it to the 6R15. My SRP777 is predictable in its positional variance that I can keep it within 5 seconds of actual time easily and the gold NAFT runs tighter across the board. Gains maybe a second while worn and scrub that second off crown up overnight. I’ve had 4 NAFTs and a Samurai with the movement so far and I’d definitely own more.sierra11b wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 1:03 pmSame unfortunately.

The argument also is that they all have hardlex but for some reason I’ve stumbled over so many stories about shattered sapphires lately it’s had me gun shy to worrying about putting one in the gold NAFT. The 777 already has sapphire but if I had it installed I’d likely go with a flat one if I was putting one in.

Re: New Seiko Field watch LE
So after a maintenance by a competent watchmaker they are OK, or do they have issues due to their design?toxicavenger wrote:Some have been as dry as a drum also.Selym wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 10:37 amI think it's down to QC. Out of 5 or so 6r’s I’ve owned, Ive sent 2 to service. They came back the same with no noticeable difference.Joeprez wrote:So after a maintenance by a competent watchmaker they are OK, or do they have issues due to their design?toxicavenger wrote:Some have been as dry as a drum also.Selym wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 10:37 amI think it's down to QC.
