Everything looks wrong. Bezel, insert, case dial, hands. I don’t get how a low dollar watch still gets the interest of this industry.

Wow, day and date are way out of alignment too. Hard to believe these are worth faking.

No shame
Re: Fake Turtle's!
No surprise. There’s Seiko mods galore on eBay from a shop or shops in India. They look a lot “newer” than the options available from the Philippines.

India, the new China.
Re: Fake Turtle's!
Darn, what's next? it seems that no matter the product there is someone willing to copy/fake it for a buck...

I'm pretty ignorant about Seikos in general, but aren't the authentic versions of these watches about $300? If so, why on earth would anyone entertain the idea of buying a fake?

who said the buyer knew it was a fake? but drew you have to remember not everyone is cool with paying $300 for a watch. some of these fakes are half of that.

Re: Fake Turtle's!
Maybe I should have phrased my question differently - why would anyone bother to manufacture a fake version of a $300 watch and sell it for $150? With such a limited profit margin (and a relatively limited market) it hardly seems worth the effort. And I guess I should have said that I can't see anyone knowingly buying a fake for $150 when you can get the real thing for under $300.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:20 amwho said the buyer knew it was a fake? but drew you have to remember not everyone is cool with paying $300 for a watch. some of these fakes are half of that.

I think the profit margin to the builder might be high compared to their standard of living. But probably not ours.logan2z wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:34 amMaybe I should have phrased my question differently - why would anyone bother to manufacture a fake version of a $300 watch and sell it for $150? Yeah, you’re right about that. Where I used to be, a skilled stone mason would get paid about $300 US/month, and send a big chunk of that home.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:07 amI think the profit margin to the builder might be high compared to their standard of living. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
