It is enormous. Like 46mm and 53mm LTL is I remember correctly.
On top of that nothing works: the end link fit would be ridiculous on a $200 watch, the hour markers are too small, the case shape doesn’t work on a diver in my opinion, the font on the bezel is weird.

Seiko really needs to focus on fewer watches and just make sure that they all don’t suck. And how about an adjustable clasp FFS? The MM300 has an innovative clasp 10 years ago. Why do the dressy GS models still have a shit clasp with no micro adjust?

Yeah, they’ve been happy to jack up the prices but did not really improve their offer on the GS side.

The boards are plastered with “please seiko make a 40mm diver” since at least early 2010s, but they just keep cranking out huge turds instead.

I would imagine if they do so it must be because they’re selling them, but I still haven’t seen anybody wear one of those gigantic watches, and even in their own domestic market (where you see a fair amount of GS in the wild) all you see are the normally sized ones.
I’ve been spending more than a month a year in Tokyo for the last four years now, so yes, I know it is anecdotal evidence, but you would figure I should have seen one by now.
Nada.

It looks just like the WUS thread now. That didn’t take long.

^LOL

I might be interested in the black/silver Arnie once prices stabilize. That’s really the only watch that has my interest currently

So does this have to be a sort of image-only thread and no commentary?

I’m ok with that, but those threads are boring as hell to me, with no commentary what’s the point?

The difference between here and WUS is in the number and quality of people.

I think he just means the whining. Hahaha

I personally like the larger MM divers! All except the SBEX001 monstrosity!

Ah ok, funny how I always detested the cheerleaders on WUS, who would constantly whine about people criticizing seiko.

It's not my fault if most new seiko watches look like shit, I'm the first to praise the designs I like (hell, I've been wearing the new solar tuna non stop for three months now)

It’s not about being a cheerleader. The thread on WUS is a mess because a few people have turned it into a “Seiko Sucks and Here is Why” thread.
I was hoping this thread would be a little more informative about new models, and less about our opinions on the state of the company as a whole.

But... seiko kinda sucks lately :)
Anyway I got the memo. Less opinions, more info.
Fine with me

An active thread on new models will be great. It's unlikely I'll buy any but I'll enjoy the thread.

The WUS thread is the occasional new model followed by Andrea and three other guys bickering and bitching. It’s hard to get any information without wading through page after page of bullshit.

I love that whole series. I wish I could justify getting one of them.

With all the variations, I imagine the NAFT must be selling like gangbusters for Seiko. Makes sense that it would be.
