New Seiko Thread
Re: New Seiko Thread
I’m two for three on the 6r35’s. First two were fantastic, the latest is acceptable.

Re: New Seiko Thread
Just saw this one on my IG feed, I really like the color combo. Anyone has one of the similar street series like this one, with the 44mm lug to lug? I had a SNE497 and a 498 (solar tunas) which wore great but were a tad bigger... not sure if this one will wear too small.

These watches have 42.4mm stainless steel cases, 200m WR, sapphire
crystals, nice rotating bezels with aluminum inserts, compass scales,
beige, blue, black or brown dials with Lumibrite hands, and markers,
leather, or textile straps, and Seiko calibre 4R35.
Have a few pictures right here...

Re: New Seiko Thread
Does anyone know if the SLA025 (Hi beat diver) has a crown tube that can be replaced or, if it's stripped does the entire case need to be replaced. There is one for sale for a decent price and I'm interested, but have read some reports that the crown tube is a part of the case and , if stripped, it's a brand new case from Seiko which I'm sure would be expensive.
Thanks
James
Thanks

Re: New Seiko Thread
Not if it's true to the original 6159-7001 or the MM300 monoblock cases. I remember someone here priced out that service for an MM300 to the tune of $700+ for a new case. The 025 would probably be worse, if Seiko would even touch it.

Re: New Seiko Thread
So the current MM300 (SLA021) cases also have a crown tube that can't be replaced?
The SKX007 has a replaceable crown tube, correct? Maybe I'll just go that way. I can't handle a potential new case for a stripped crown tube. I'm careful but have had it happen a few times over the years.
Re: New Seiko Thread
The SKX007 (7S26-0020 case) does not have a replaceable crown tube. It's either epoxied, welded, or press-fit into the case, and not available as a replacement part.Mr_Pacman wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 10:04 amSo the current MM300 (SLA021) cases also have a crown tube that can't be replaced?

I've owned my SBDX001 (8L35-0010 case) for 11 years, and I haven't worn out the case tube yet. The threads on the crown and tube still work as new.
I seem to remember someone having an 8L35-0010 case tube replaced by Seiko. If memory serves, they drilled out the bad tube and laser-welded in a new one. So, it can be done.

Didn’t Terry replace his MM300 tube with a trip lock?Selym wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:46 pmThe SKX007 (7S26-0020 case) does not have a replaceable crown tube. I think so, but I remember someone else having one repaired by Seiko.dnslater wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 6:27 pmDidn’t Terry replace his MM300 tube with a trip lock?Selym wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:46 pmThe SKX007 (7S26-0020 case) does not have a replaceable crown tube. Re: New Seiko Thread
Correct. I stripped the crown on an SKX007, and it needed a new case. Which cost almost the same as what I paid for the watch.Selym wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:46 pmThe SKX007 (7S26-0020 case) does not have a replaceable crown tube. Hey everyone, have you had a look at Seiko's new Presage Style60's Collection?
Modeled after the Seiko Crown Chronograph from 1964. These new watches
come in both time and date, and open heart form. With details like 40.8mm
stainless steel cases, 50M WR, box style Hardlex crystals, a fleet of nice
bezel, and dial combinations, caliber 4R35, or 4R39 automatic movements,
as well as nylon straps, and stainless steel bracelets.
