SD 300

Titanium, Spring Drive, Sapphire, Ceramic Bezel & 300m WR.

Ultimate Marine Master? The bracelet looks nice & thick. Minute hand is a good length. Accuracy should be excellent.

Two new Land Masters.

Next to their original design inspirations.

Looks like a winner but man that crown is long! Could just be the typical crap seiko rendering.

We’ve seen these hands before and they’re all the beveled brushed goodness of the mm300.

I like that SD300 but I bet it’ll have an msrp around $8k and a $6k street price.

I’m pretty sure there must be some sort of agreement among watchmakers to produce new versions that are consistently shittier than the older ones.
The end goal is probabl selling LE re editions of the good stuff at crazy prices.

There’s no other possible explanation
This makes perfect sense. They could build better versions of the older models but seems like no. I wonder what demographic they use for their focus groups to come up with their decisions.

I don’t know the logic Seiko uses for the design team, but I’d wear that new Flightmaster.

Heck, they could throw that GMT movement and 24 hour scale rehaut into the new Spring Drive MM300 case and you’d have a great GMT diver.

You'd have to be so rich to buy that watch at $7400. It looks nice though.

Around $3000 for a well executed regular edition I’m in.

JP, i've been hoping citizen would do one of these as a perp cal, b/c I think that would be the perfect daily for my wife.
I once criticized the way she set and wound one of our shared watches, so now every morning she just hands me whichever watch she wants to wear and makes me set and wind it for her. I've tried to interest her in "learning" the proper way to set date, time, wind, but she just eyerolls.

Meanwhile, citizen comes out with the first interesting watch at Basel 2019

Image

Quartz, accuracy of +/-1 second per YEAR, solar, clean design, no shitty power reserve on the dial, 37.5mm x 9.1mm thickness.

Did they 100% nail it?
Of course not. LEs start at $7400 (the pictured one is above $15000).

I would guess regular editions will be priced much cheaper though.

Definitely interested, even if Citizen high end watches have always underwhelmed me in real life.
This one is awesome
