Limited Edition Alpinist

I have to say, this looks pretty good. I've never been a fan of the green dialed, gold hands version, but I could definitely see myself wearing this one.

That’s really nice. I sold the green one as it is a little small for me, but I loved the look.

I also think it looks great and I've never been a fan of the green dialed version. Although it might take away from the more casual nature of the watch, I think this one would look great on a SS jubilee.

I started a separate thread on this - maybe the mods could merge them?

Looks great to me. Perfect ‘vintage’ size.

I know some folks will find it small, but 39-40mm is my sweet spot.

Not bad especially since it's not as blingy as the original, but I really dislike that strap they matched it with.

Really wanted to dislike it because of the Dink factor, but damn I love this.

Never got into the green color before hand, but the blue and upgraded movement sent me over the edge. Order placed. I'll post up some pics when it arrives.

It doesn't sound like Hodinkee had anything to do with the design/development of the watch, they are just the exclusive retailer.

Was the original really a 6R? I thought they had the 4R. Huh. Never mind then.

Wouldn't say the 6r is an upgrade over the 4r anyway based on my experience.

Ordered. After having the green for three years I am ready for an update. Previous version of strap was garbage. This one looks decent

I've always had great experience with the 6r. But my experience with the 4 is pretty limited.

That's what I always thought was odd about the watch. It's supposed to be an adventurer's watch. So you make it come standard with a jade green dial and gold cathedral hands and gold markers? It's weird. I think Seiko did a black dialed version some years ago - I remember that one looking pretty good.

When the green arrived I literally taped the same box back up and relisted that same day. Was so disappointed overall and I can’t really put my finger on why... size was a bit quirky and I was expecting more emerald green instead of olive.

I ordered. It was the dial color. Finally an "adventure" watch that actually looks the part.

Always wanted to try this, but the green with gold always looked off to me - in a cheesey sort of way.

And its the hodinkee watch. It will be relatively easy to flip.
