Does this model have the same dial size opening as the SBDX001?

I think the small dial opening of the OG MM300 makes it appear visually smaller and manageable despite being a 44mm watch.

Just wondering if this is similar.

This is a 44 that is going to wear like a 44 then.

I really dig the look, so much that if this was 42mm it would've already been on a plane from Japan to my house. At 44, I'm a bit hesitant.

I just got the 63 version and it wears smaller than a 44mm imo. More like 42

I find your perspective on this interesting given you sold your Alpina GMT due to (IIRC) size. On paper, the Alpina GMT and this model Seiko are very similarly sized with equal diameters and close to equal thicknesses.

While I think you can "trick" the eye into making a larger watch appear smaller by using a thicker bezel and smaller dial opening (as in the OG MM300), but again on this point I think the Alpina Alpiner GMT and this Seiko are pretty close.

I find the 44mm Alpina on the edge of my skinny wrist comfort zone. If it wasn't for the fact the jump hour GMT hand is so useful to me as a frequent traveler, I might've even flipped it.

Now a cynical person might think I just wrote this just so I could get you to flip your 63...

I can't wear the Alpina, it is to big. The SBDC063 does not wear like it at all.

The Seiko wears much smaller than that Alpina gmt. Not even close. It’s shorter , has a thinner case and is lighter.
