62MAS 3 FACET HANDS on a SBDC063

Post by toxicavenger » Mon Jan 14, 2019 7:17 pm

I bought these hands from here https://seikoparts.wordpress.com/2017/1 ... ern-62mas/ and installed them on the 063 today. I am not sure I like them.

They aren’t bad but they look a bit thin for the watch. If they were a hint girthier they’d be perfect.

But I might get a pair of MM hands to try them.

I like the GS ones better so far.

Thanks for finding this pic. I have the MM hands, and was thinking of this exact mod. Now that I see it, I thinks the GS hands look better.

I agree. Too short.

Maybe the hands from the limited edition Sumo SBDC027? They seem thicker than 62mas hands and longer than MM300 hands.

One thing i noticed is the MM hour hand actually matches the 063 markers design at the 6-9-12 o'clock

Would you be willing to mix and match the hands, assuming the lime matches?

For example, I like the MM300 hour hand, but I agree the minute hand is too short. The GS minute hand is also a bit short, but it is bold enough with the arrow tip so that combo might work.

The MM300 hour hand mixed with the stock minute hand might also look good.

I think the controversy is mostly been over the bold arrow hour hand. I’m wearing my 053 now and don’t mind it, but I can see how others might.

Maybe tuna hands would be a winner on this one...

I’ll take 3 sets if you can find them. Good luck.

Terry, I kinda like them. There’s sort of a vintage vibe to the look that works for me.
