I was about to pull the trigger on the Uncle Seiko until I saw......"hollow end links"

when I see a bracelet for that price and it's got cheap endlinks... I'm not buying it....I might as well buy a Hadley for less. It ends up being the same thing.

Nothing on Uncle Seiko, but damn, they could charge much less for something like that. It's the same price as a Strapcode....

Sad day

Correct, they are hollow end links, but I don’t mind.

How much is it new? I’ve always picked them up in the used market.

sorry hollow endlinks do not equate to cheap. what they do equate to is adjustability. some watch cases are not perfect and you adjust the hollow endlinks to fit. a solid version you get what you get.

hadley doesn't make a bracelet like this watch it recall.

what you get with uncle seiko is great products and great cs. I can't say the same for strapcode.

i really like my uncle seiko z199. It gives the watch a real vintage vibe with the narrow clasp and hollow end links.

I didn’t like the huge looking endlinks and polished links on the other options.

I just went to Strapcode to order a clasp. $10 shipping for a $20 clasp? Pass

YOU ever ordered from ofrei? $7 to ship a set of spring bars in a an envelop. Oh and you have to buy $10 worth of product first.

I haven't worn a bracelet on a watch in years, but I'm hoping the z199 will change my mind. That looks great. Just ordered one.

So, I'm not sure if the Z199 is for me. I like that it is thin, and tapers, but the end link fit doesn't impress me. It almost looks like it's only 21mm. Here it is, next to the stock Seiko bracelet.

The end link is what has stopped me from buying a Z199. I don’t want to hear anything about hollow end links at that price.

Anyone tried strapcodes racheting clasp? They offer it on the NAFT SJ but it comes at a $30 premium.

They are huge. It took most of the bracelet for me. I guess if you have a wrist bigger than 7 1/4 it would be great. I felt like it took up to much real-state on my wrist.

Good to know.

So the standard SJ from strapcode is still a good bet?

I have a bubbyboy crystal and 6309 lollipop incoming for a NAFT mod from Harold, but wanted to try an SJ rather than his BOR (which I have).

I love my SJ from Strapcode. I also have the endmill and oyster. All are great. I have the Seiko MM300 clasp on all of them. Best Seiko clasp out there. They are pricy but you get what you pay for.

Yeah I happen to have an extra mm300 clasp in the spare watch parts case. It’s a direct fit, eh?

It should fit any bracelet that tapers to 18 mm at the clasp.

It’s a direct fit on the Strapcode tapered bracelet.

Honestly since Uncle Seiko came around I stopped dealing with Strapcode unless I have too.

I've bought a few of these China-sourced solid-link bracelets made for Seiko cases from various vendors (e.g. Will Jean, Strapcode). In almost every case, there's been a small problem, such as a stiff link, stripped threads, or an end link that needs to be filed slightly in order to fit properly.

I was ok with this when they were going for $50-60. Not so much now that they're approaching $100.

Also, I can't put my finger on exactly why, but they all look a little "cheap".

I have a BOR from Harold wrapped in plastic if I need to go that route, but decided to give the SJ a try this time. I did buy a 6309 lollipop and Bubbleboy from Harold last night so I'm certainly doing my part to keep him in business.
