Turdle bracelets and clasps.

Post by gonzomantis » Sat Dec 01, 2018 12:26 pm

This week was the first time I sized and tried the stock bracelet on one of my turdles. Then I was reminded of why I avoid them. The diver's extension always digs into the side of my wrist. I did a little looking, and was wondering if Strapcode is the place to go for a replacement clasp. Any recommendations?

Also, I've seen some pics of them on Jubilee too. Strapcode again?

Thanks for any help.

The Strapcode Angus Jubilee is beefy and matches the heft of the Turdle pretty well. The Super Jubilee is lighter and maybe just a little more comfortable. The Angus is in the photo.

I’m surprised, I never had a NAFT dive extension dig into my wrist but the Sumo always did. I think it’s much better balanced on the wrist than the Sumo.

I want to buy a Strapcode jubilee, but I hear they're all over the place in fit and finish. Bought an Uncle Seiko Z199 instead. Figure it's basically an all-brushed jubilee. Bonus is that I believe I can use the end links with an OEM SKX jubilee if I want.

I'll second that. Thicker than the Super and a 22>20mm taper vs a 22>>18mm make it a real man's bracelet :htfu:

Fit and finish on my turdle Angus is perfect. IIRC the end link fit issues were all with the SKX endlinks

Any of the Jubilee bracelets works great with the Turtle.

I've never had any Seiko bracelet be uncomfortable or dig into my wrist, but I've found I do prefer a 22 to 18 taper on my bracelets though.

I had issues with the lug holes having burrs in them so I couldn't use the correct spring bars. Two of the ones I got also had bent screw bars when I was adjusting the links. Like Crafterblue, once I get jacked the second time I am done with a company.

Those Jubilee looked very good. I liked the BOR from Uncle Seiko:

As far as bracelets, on my Turdle I have used,
Stock bracelet (put it away and not used again),
Uncle Seiko's BOR (one of my faves but wish ir was 22/18 instead of 22/20),
Stock Seiko Jubilee that I modified the endlinks to fit (another fave),
Super Oyster (Strapcode I think with 6309 end links) (looks great but not as comfortable for me).

It usually splits time between the BOR, Jubilee and a Neutered blue Toxic Nato...

I went with the Strapcode straight oyster on my STO, unlike the turtle OEM seiko bracelet, it has no polished surface....like the STO..

I do like that beads of rice. I just sold the OEM bracelet. It was plenty comfortable but I really didn't think it looked like it fit the style of the watch. It reminded me too much of the Sumo MM300 style. Love the watch on straps, though I think the BOR fits the style best when it comes to bracelets.

Uncle Seiko Z199 Jubilee. I’m a big fan of this one. Such a comfortable bracelet.
