Seiko SBDX001
Hello,
I had a Seiko SBDX017, and I sold it. I regretted it right away.
I have recently purchased an SBDX001. I have discovered that there are honest differences between the two as I prefer the lume of the 001, and I have really enjoyed the unsigned crown.
The one problem that I have is that there is some rock to the bezel of the SBDX001. The bezel movement is very nice. The alignment is visually perfect.
The problem is that I can press on a part of the bezel and get some side to side movement. If I press on the other side (180 degrees away), it will rock back.
Is this an issue with the bezel spring or bezel gasket?
Otherwise, the movement is keeping within 10 sec/ week against the NIST clock.
Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Seiko SBDX001
Unfortunately, I don't recall any bezel play on any of the MM300s I've owned.
Re: Seiko SBDX001
My MM300 bezel is tight as well. No side-to-side movement to speak of.

My bezel is fine as well. Sounds like you're getting exceptional timekeeping though.

I have timed this watch hoping to find an issue. The time it keeps continues to be top notch against the NIST clock.
I removed the bezel, removed the bezel spring and gasket, and I used what I believe to be the best grease in existence (Phil Wood Waterproof Grease).
My bezel now ratchets very well. There are no degrees that feel tight. I still have that slight rock, but it is modest at best. Much improved compared to before.

I changed bike shops when they told me Park grease was as good as Phil Wood..welcomdmat wrote:I have timed this watch hoping to find an issue. The time it keeps continues to be top notch against the NIST clock.

I don't see how to "like" a post, but the 3oz tube of Phil Waterproof Grease is worth the price of admission whether you are working on bearings or any other metal to metal situation.

Most threads are useless without photos. I thought I'd add one of my SBDX001. I have found the Maratac Mil-Series to be my favorite strap.

Since everything else works great, I think it’s something I’d live with.

I think I have owned 4 of them and I have never had this issue. But I don't really think it is an issue.

Phil's "Wood" builds the best stuff in the bike biz imo

Nice! Good deal on your bezel issue. I've owned both the 001 and 17 and don't remember 'rocking', but then I don't have watches long enough to notice much anyway...welcomdmat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 10:26 amMost threads are useless without photos.
