Mine was supposed to be here Friday, but showed up today. That sucks as nobody was home to sign for it.

Sooooo I'll be picking it up at the post office in the morning.

Well this showed up today and I’ve gotta say, Seiko did a good job with this one. Gives me all the Tuna vibes at half the Tuna price. Different color scheme than what I usually go for so it’s a nice change of pace. And I was afraid it may be a little too light with the plastic shroud but it’s got some decent heft to it. I probably won’t bother with Yobokies metal shroud unless something happens to this one. Feels like a lot of watch for sub $300.

Damn I’m really liking this.
And I wore my 015 all day today. I may be looking for one of these soon.

Picked mine up today. First impressions are it's a solid watch and doesn't feel cheap. Also I feel there is no need to buy the Yobokies shroud as this one is fine imo.

Now I wished I hadn't sold my ToxicNato BlackOut's. Guess it's reorder time.

Looking Good guys.

My Solar Golden Tuna SNE498 arrived early last week and it got some wrist time this weekend. I ordered in from Mimo's (great customer service). I'm really liking this watch. The plastic shroud is OK but I would like a little more weight so I contacted Harold about availability of his Stainless DLC shroud. Waiting to hear back from him.

I'm still mulling it over but I MIGHT sell this Golden Tuna version for the silver version SNE497P1. The golden is nice but I think I just like the silver a little better.

The 497 with a stainless shroud could be a great alternative to the out of production 015.

He has them in stock. Send him $105 to his paypal and put a note in it asking for the shroud. yobokies@yahoo.com.hk

I have an 015 on the stock bracelet, it's a keeper. I think the 497 looks good with the black shroud and I think I will like the heavier weight with the Yobokies DLC stainless shroud swap.

Last night I ordered the Silver version SNE497P1 from an ebay dealer out of Hong Kong. Made an offer and got a great price. It's going to take about two weeks to get here. I'll post some pics when it arrives.

I also ordered the black DLC stainless shroud from Harold. I know I will like the heavier weight from the stainless steel.

These are such cool watches at affordable prices.

Great shots, David!

In the vein of Highlander's "There can be only one!" framework, which do you prefer, the digi-tuna or the solar-tuna?

Hey Terry, I saw that you had used Polywatch to reduce the texture off of your bezel insert. Can you tell us a little about that. I'd like to do the same. Any photos?

Thanks.

Ah, OK. Thought it was you.

It is a very slight texture, it makes the bezel insert look just slightly hazy in certain lighting conditions. The bezel when polished with Polywatch made it look like a deep black color.

If I had to choose I'd probably go with the DigiTuna right now, but only because I already have the 017, and the fact I don't have a digital watch.

Glad I don't have the choose as the solar without question is really cool, and gives you the real Tuna vibe, for under $300. You can also beef it up with the Yobokies shroud if you don't like the plastic one. Me, I'm OK with it.

I am going to scratch the hell out of my watch so no polishing of the bezel for me.

Potentially dumb question. Are these essentially the same as the SBDN (just with less crazy colorways)?

Only the case might be the same. Everything else looks different imo
