No X. Is the photo the historic model or the new?

The photo is from their website, so I suspect it's the new one.HapaHapa wrote:No X. Is the photo the historic model or the new?

Oh, wow. That is a gorgeous 7C46 Tuna.

Couldn’t wait and got a NOS SBBS018
These are something like $2200-2400 iirc.
And the watch in the picture is the new one.

Has anyone tried the SNE498p1? SNE498 shows more via search. Seems it can be had in the $320-340 range.
Andrea and myself have been tossing this one around from sometime but I took the plunge on the SBBS018. The Solar looks great. I'm skeptical on the coating wearing but the shroud should handle most of that with normal wear... Plus gold shows less wear than their black coating at this price point... I'm not sure anyone knows what the black coating is but it immediately shows steel once you hit something, which I can vouch for with my recent samurai mod (now sold).
Reviews have been iffy in that people are unsatisfied with the crown play when pulled out, but I wonder if it's a non-issue?
Go to 4:29 for the wobble.

I like them a lot, but since I have the 015 Tuna, and just recently bought a DigiTuna I'm resisting. Whole lot of happy buyers and pictures in thread below. A slightly wobbly crown on an inexpensive solar, that you should only have to unscrew, at the most 12 times a year, should be nothing to worry about.

My thoughts exactly. But only after months that don’t end in 31 rather than 12 months

I like the solar one. Patrick from Take Time said he loves the one he has. And he says is compares quite nicely to his 015 for the price point.

Watched the video. I’m not buying one but it’s pretty cool.

Great looking watch. I love this classic Tuna hand design, it is a damn shame that they abandoned them on the new Quartz Tuna line.

Thank for posting that video, terry. Much appreciated.
I noticed he had nothing to say about the crown. Good to know.

He did not and Pat is a very thorough reviewer.
