New Grand Seiko Limited Editions! Photos From Vegas

New GS Limited Editions!

Image

We just saw three new Grand Seiko limited editions in Las Vegas! These are being called “Kimono” dials. The prices are just estimates for the moment, so keep in mind these may change as they get closer to their release date in October.

The blue dial model is steel, limited to 300 pieces and is $6,500, the rose gold model is just 50 pieces and is $27,000, and the platinum model (white dial) is very exclusive with only 20 pieces at $54,000. The steel model is an especially good deal because it apparently will come on bracelet in addition to two different leather straps, one brown and one blue.

Check out our photos below!

Nice looking. GS needs to cut their watches’ thickness 20%. Almost every one of them is chubky.

I'm ok with their thickness, but I would love to see them make thinner watches down the road, at least as an option. It's not like they can't do it, they could just pop 9S64s into everything, but for whatever reason they don't want to.

They sell so many watches in the DJ style and they’re all too thick. Only the quartz are under 13mm.

Are these ones all 13.5mm? That’s as thick as a Rolex sub. Too thick for what they are.

I imagine thick exhibition back doesn't help. Kinda the same problem with Omega thickness

Yeah but the movements are so pretty I don't think I could give it up.

I’d certainly group case finishing into areas they excel. Few brands in their price range come close.

That's a good point. A lot of strengths in the GS portfolio.

I’ll take a bracelet with micro adjust over GS case finishing. They really need to update their clasp. It’s near worst in class.

Funny you say that
I think it looked 100x better with the older dial.
The new GS only looks very unbalanced to me
Eric has terrible taste. He’s like a compass that points south.

OG Seiko dial > GS only.

All that empty space on the dial...what’s next, an X?

Plenty of GS out there without the Seiko logo that look fine, not unbalanced etc.

Especially the Diver etc. I can see on the one in this post what you mean.
