Yeap, way easier to turn the bezel than looking for the chrono on a digital watch in order to time something.

Only place I've read 21mm lugs is that Oceantime blog, sooooo I'm not convinced yet.
Re: New Seiko Lowercase Digital Fieldmaster
Love the looks but can't say I'm feeling this one over the recent golden solar release.
Would have been nice if there was some sort of technology which could incorporate the bezel operation into the LCD for bezel functions, but that would be more money and I'm not sure if the WR would be sacrificed?
If it can be had in the <$300 camp it'll be a winner. I suppose you can still mark time with the bezel if you time it right to the display.

Re: New Seiko Lowercase Digital Fieldmaster
I don't get how the bezel works.
Normally you move the bezel to the hand, which is your reference point. It then marks time from there. The digital timer on this is always going to count from the 12 position...so why have a rotating bezel that can't be rotated in actual use?
Is this a bit naff or am I missing something obvious?

From what I've read the bezel does rotate, and the minutes are tracked digitally sound the outer edge, functioning like a regular minute hand.bedlam wrote:I don't get how the bezel works.

I guess you can’t ask for anything more than that.
I’ll be interested to see the street price for the gold.

Yeah, I get what you mean. I wonder how easy that would to read in the water.59yukon01 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 6:16 pmFrom what I've read the bezel does rotate, and the minutes are tracked digitally sound the outer edge, functioning like a regular minute hand.bedlam wrote:I don't get how the bezel works.

Screwed casebacks seem to hold up pretty well on G-Shocks.bedlam wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 2:05 amYeah, I get what you mean. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
