I can't believe I wore the SBEX for a while. But that one was what, 48mm? And 18mm thick? It was stupid big. I think this new one will be nice. Hopefully. I reached out to my pusher in Japan for more details.

Hmmm. Maybe a mm300 that I will want!
Gotta find out more on this.

Right. Sure. Nothing to do with the green and gold that they’re running as an LE on a few different models right now. Couldn’t be that. Got to be riding Rolex’s nuts for sure...JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 9:27 amSunburst green dial, plus dull green rotatable diving bezel...Torrid wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 9:24 amI’m not sure that’s the impression I’m getting. It seems like they’re using the color scheme they’ve been using on the LE GS models with the gold accents they’ve used. If the green was a similar shade and no gold I might agree.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 9:21 amThat green one is a laugh. Just what the world needed - A Seiko produced homage to the Rolex LV.
Yeah. Clearly an original design fully in harmony with Seiko's historic design language.
I’d love this GS but I could more likely snag the MM300 guessing the likely price.

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
That dial definitely looks more like the one in the picture than the Rolex - not. It's OK to like Seiko and realize that many of their design elements are 100% ripped off. Like that bracelet on the GS you posted. It's 100% ripped off from the much older Omega design. Or the cyclops that now adorns so many of their watches. I guess that's not "riding Rolex's nuts for sure..."
They're offering a green dial/bezel dive watch because the Rolex version is popular. To argue otherwise is naive.

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
I would tend to agree on the color. I honestly hope it’s just shitty catalog pictures as usual and look like the GS. I won’t lie, I’ll be a bit disappointed if it comes across more like you describe it once we get better pictures. I already had and in the end was a bit disappointed by the MM300 so even if the color is right I’m not sure I’d be a buyer.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 1:04 pmThat dial definitely looks more like the one in the picture than the Rolex - not. Not everything is a copy of a Rolex. To argue otherwise is naive.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 1:04 pmThat dial definitely looks more like the one in the picture than the Rolex - not. That mm300 is going to be great!
Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
Interesting. I assume they will be expensive AF.
Also, everybody know Rolex literally invented green. One day Hans Wilsdorf was carrying a pot of blue paint, and a pot of yellow paint. He tripped over and the rest is history

I like the SPB's, but the SLA's will be way more than I'd spend on a watch. Seiko is starting to "wear out the welcome" on those new hands though.

Sorry gents.Funnily I am getting a bit numb with all this re-issues things e.g.Blancpain, Doxa, Hamilton, etc.....

Yup. The origin of which (I believe) was from an 80's/90's alba. Anything here look familiar?59yukon01 wrote:I like the SPB's, but the SLA's will be way more than I'd spend on a watch. Seiko is starting to "wear out the welcome" on those new hands though.

Did not know that. So these hands basically are reissues as well. What's old is new again.Morethan1 wrote:Yup. The origin of which (I believe) was from an 80's/90's alba. Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
+1, already we have seen the black lung bubble deflate. Anyone who buys on the assumption that the limited numbers
will store value will be disappointed when half a year later there is another limited edition, slightly tweaked.
Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
I love the look of the reissue. I thought Seiko had failed when the Samurai reissues came out at 43mm, but they just haven’t.

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
Yes, please! Tom, did Chino give you any idea of the price?
Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
Unconfirmed, but I hear the price of the SLA025 is around $4500.

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!
Right - my guy said the same thing, which makes sense, because the SLA017 was the SBDX019 in Japan. This one should have an SBEX designation based on the hi beat movement I think. I need to find the Japan model # so I can pre-order one.

Derivative or not, I like the green MM. I'm gonna have to look into. At a minimum, it should be an easy, slightly profitable flip.

Prospex logo on the green MM is a deal breaker for me. I'm sure that is coming to the standard MM300s as well.
