New Seiko Cocktail Time

Post by jswing » Sat Nov 11, 2017 5:01 pm

I always liked the Cocktail Time, but never bought one because I don't really need a dress watch. Last week I came across a new one and fell in love with the dial. It'll be released 11/17 in Japan. Comes as either a time/date only (SARY085) or a power reserve (SARY087). Each is a limited edition of 1300 for the JDM, but I think there's also a version coming for the rest of the world that isn't limited. I reserved a time only, but am going back and forth between the two, and may switch my order to the PR version. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I really like them.

That’s funny. I just saved this photo tonight. I love it.

The more I look at them, the more I lean toward the power reserve model.

That’s a cool dial _ more watches should use those hands as well

Nice

I like both but maybe the PR a shade better.

What’s the price in USD?

60000 JPY works out to $528 list at today's exchange rate minus any discount.

The non-power reserve is 45000 or $396.

I took the pre order plunge on the SARY089, always been a sucker for light dialed dress watches.

These are great and inexpensive dressier watches. Enjoying mine a lot.

How’s the thickness? That’s the only thing holding me back from one of these. It looks great.

I think the PR model comes in at 14.3 vs the straight 3 hander at 10.8

My fault, it's actually 14.4 vs 11.8

Based on those photos, it looks much better on Joe than the other guy. I think the seemingly crap stock Seiko strap has a lot to do with it.

That’s a stunner. I think one of my customers is about to pull the trigger on the power reserve version. Can’t wait to check it out.
