SBDC051/053?
So has anyone tried one of these on? I am wondering how it wears and what is the lug to lug compared to a SKX.

They wear big IMO. Much bigger than SKX. L2L is around 50mm I believe.

Nice, I might have to pull trigger on one soon.

Those look nice. I thought of getting one for a while before I was distracted.
Re: SBDC051/053?
While they are larger than an SKX, they wear nicely. I tend to like 40-42mm watches and find it just fine thanks to the contoured case profile.
Re: SBDC051/053?
While maybe large, at least they are "proportionally large". By this I mean the date window, for example, is placed symmetrically on the dial relative to the 9 o'clock marker.
Date windows which have been cozied close to the pinion to accommodate a smaller movement into a larger case are a pet peeve of mine.
As a testament to the benefits of vertically integrated manufacturing, Seiko selected the right movement for the case size.

Re: SBDC051/053?
Any recommendations on where to source one of these or should I just "ebay it"?
Re: SBDC051/053?
Prices are very high for these right now. I’d recommend you wait a few months.sinner wrote:Any recommendations on where to source one of these or should I just "ebay it"?

Too many PADI models now imo.
Re: SBDC051/053?
IMO, the PADI logo is the least attractive feature of that watch. The runner up is the X logo.
Re: SBDC051/053?
I wonder how hard it would be to get a standard bezel.

I think I’ll eventually get the black dial version when they’re a bit easier to come by.

Have yet to see one with swapped hands...
Re: SBDC051/053?
And most people don’t buy an $800.00 watch just to open it up and swap the hands.

Re: SBDC051/053?
I have been guilty of that.
If this dial is anything like the SRP PADI the blue dial is gonna rock.

Although I do like the OEM hands and think they work I'm with you. I'd be too tempted not to try the Sumo LE hands. You can always go back!
