Bought this midsized 5216 watch in 2003 when I arrived in Japan. The wife bought it for me at $80. That's 14 years ago and it still excites me when I wear it!

That's a great watch! It must have been NOS when purchased.
Did it come on a bracelet?

No it was found used in a consignment store. Yes, I have the original bracelet but it never attracted me. It has small scratches on the caseback and with a loupe you can see very small lines on the gold bezel. But the faceted crystral really catches the light in a dim restaurant! haha!

Love all of these dressy vintage Seikos.

Beautiful.
I own my Japanese father-in-law's Seiko LM Special 5206-6020 only because he developed an allergy to the metal. I think it houses the 23j 5206 Hi-beat.
Never been serviced and I keep putting it off, but aside from the date sticking and the power reserve being low, it's still perfectly accurate to the second. Amazing.
I really need to get this one done but it's a bit small for me...
