it has arrived:

That looks like a high quality watch. I'm not sure why a random wrist shot makes a watch look 1,000 times better than every image Seiko produced.
This can't be emphasized enough. One must assume they want customers to have a nice surprise when they open their boxes. Beautiful watch!

It's very true. It's the same cycle every Seiko release. Rumors, crappy pic leaked, stock shots, everyone complains about everything based on the stock photo, watch is actually released and it's a million times better than what everyone thought.

Probably should have preordered one.

yea, it wears much better than it looked in the early photos, does not feel like 39.9mm, the weight is just 88 gms head only, the rubber was too thick so it went in the box, will try the sst in a bit:

What's the lug to lug length? They look long and flat in that wrist picture.

Yep. Happens every time.

I actually come to rely on everyone complaining about Seiko crap catalog shot so I have first refusal... Too bad I actually had to refuse this one. :crybaby:

Wonder if you can retrofit this style hands on the 43mm model

You can. There are similar styles hands on other 6rxx movements.

Yes. The hands from the Sumo LE (SBDC027) will fit, as that model also runs the 6R15 motor.

I don't think the "lume" will match, though, if the photos/renderings are to be believed.

The renderings are not to be trusted, but one could have the hands lumed to match if needed.

I like the hands on the 43mm model, so mine will likely remain stock.

Some photos from the WUS thread. The box shot makes the watch look small.

Dammit. I really want one.

Edit: why would you open the case on a brand new watch?

They guy has a watch blog review site. Glad to see someone do it to reveal the movement. He also could get be getting it regulated. Beautiful movement. Certainly helps justify the price. Looks just as good as Omega and Rolex movements.

Agreed, it looks pretty good. Is this the same exact version of the 8L35 as in the MM300?

I like the hands on the modern version too.

I believe the earlier MM300's used the non-decorated version, but current models use this. I may be mistaken. I know my Seiko Brightz Phoenix ran this movement.

Some really good pictures of this one, and the updated version. Didn't want to steal the pictures so here's the link. Nice profile pictures also.

There was a photo on WUS next to a Speedy Pro. Actually looked pretty similar in size.
