I really like the blue on black rubber strap.

I can't forgive them for the prospex logo.

It's not like they lack bigger watches in their lineup.
I like it a lot, especially the blue, but I know 43mm will not work for me.

It's the one thing I hate about my NAFT.

Seiya is showing the 053 (blue) in stock right now. Slightly more $$ than Chino, but just barely.

Crap. Regardless of my Seiko opinions lately I really want to try this. Domed sapphire even.

They are going to be a regular stock item so I don't think there is a need to rush out and make the purchase. I'll let the feeding frenzy settle a bit then hunt one down.

The stock models have the diashield coating, correct? This should help ensure the good condition of models snagged on he secondary market.

That's another thing. I have my concerns for Diashield long term. It does have higher scratch resistance but harder dings are hard to say since it's a coating. Deeper scratches had a bit of a difference appearance that are hard to describe.

I paid over $400 to have one of the first SRP NAFTs delivered to the States. Now they routinely sell for low $200 range. Prices and availability of these will be much better soon. No rush.

I did the same, then modded it with sapphire & black date wheels. It's the cost of being an early l adopter and I've experienced it with electronics too.

I'm pretty sure the limited edition SLA017 will retain its value or increase, because it's much different.

I feel lucky.

They will drop for sure, but I can't see them dropping as much as the NAFT's did percentage-wise. I equate those with the SKX line and these with the other 6R15's like the Shogun and Sumo. Those fluctuate a bit depending on where the yen is, but for brand new they've been relatively consistent over the years.

They'll definitely be a solid buy on the pre-owned market. Diashield + low entry price to begin with = great deals on good condition watches when people flip.

I honestly think even for the features of the 6R15 one, I'd rather get a NAFT, install the sapphire and pocket the rest. I prefer the 4R36 movement from my experience.

Anyone interested in doing a compare versus the Seaforth? It's not a perfect match but at quick glance quite similar.
