I do think it looks nice. Fully agree that it should live on straps but a bracelet option is always nice to have.

Not sure, mine is still wrapped up. I do know the MM300 clasp fits, per posts on WUS.

Got the chance to wear it all day finally.

Damn nice. Comfortable. Dial, case, bezel all strong.

So is this a reissue LE or will this be standard Japanese market issue as well?

Limited Edition of 2000 pieces worldwide. There will be no more.

There is a new version due this month, but it's not to this level. It is attractive, 43mm, and runs a 6R15 motor.

Mine is #1712 / 2000

I brought my SKX007, Shogun and MM300 in to take some comparison shots for a review. I will say the bezel action on this is superb.

I've always liked Seiko bezel action, but this one is just a step above. It feels almost fluid, and dampened, yet well defined clicks with zero backlash or slop.

On the strap it feels almost petite next to the MM300, but for me with my skinny wrists, this isn't a bad thing at all.

I agree, the bezel is fantastic

Everything on the watch is smooth in operation and nicely done. It lives up to the hype for sure.

Some quick an dirty comparison shots.

Against the MM300:

Against the Shogun:

Still very much in the honeymoon period, but for me, this watch wears perfectly. The MM300 was my personal grail when I first got into collecting and will always have a place in my watch box, but in reality I rarely wear it for days on end. It is a big, thick, watch that you know you are wearing.

The Shogun is a favorite due to its Diashield Ti construction. It is also a large watch, but it seems to hide it's size well being relatively thin and light weight.

The SLA017 wears very well on my 7 inch wrist.

I think the SLA017 would compare well in size / wear-ability to a Sub rather than to either of my other Seiko's. When I get the chance, I'll post some photos of it against a GMTiiC for visual comparison. If Todd stops by on his way south from Maine, maybe we can get the Sub comparison shots.

I don't know whether to say "you are welcome" or "I'm sorry"... maybe both.

It wears like a 40mm diver. Great for those of us with smaller wrists, but not for everyone - especially those who are used to wearing 44mm watches routinely.

I'm sure your old Orient Star 300MM diver would dwarf this SLA017. I've had similar illusions of buying one of those but knew I'd never wear it due to the size.

Sometimes (rarely) it is OK to be scrawny I guess

I was searching on japanese websites for one today. Makes Shogun look like a huge tank and it was my smallest diver I've worn in the past few years.
It's bitter sweet, you're welcome and I'm sorry both apply

This pic fn killed me, Shogun wears smaller than SKX

My only reservation (and I already own two LOL) is the size. It seems small when I compare it to my others, but on wrist it seems fine. It really does wear like the 16600 SD.

Ed can you do me a favor since we have similar size wrists
Can you thread a castrated NATO through so the buckle is in the middle of the wrist back, please ?

I can, but won't be home until later.

I think the nato hardware makes it look larger.

Art wears larger watches.
You always rocked smaller ones like the EZM3F (which I think you shouldn't sell).
I think this seiko looks perfect on you, as it would on Art, I was extrapolating based on his taste for larger pieces.
Thanks. I'm still deciding.

I love the watch but I do think it seems small in these pics and the nato makes is a tad larger on the pic I imagine?

It'd be perfect on my wrist ImageImage
