TORN - MM300 or Darth Tuna?
TORN - MM300 or Darth Tuna?
Argh... very WUS thread, but I've had both and like them both. I'll soon be in a position to buy only one of them. The Darths 013 sell in minutes and the MM's are typically 400 bucks more expensive.. as soon as I buy one, I'll wish I'd bought the other
Anyway, does anyone here own both and can take a side by side pic to help me chose?
Apologies for the ridiculous thread topic.

Buy BOTH!
(I don't personally care for blacked out watches, so the choice for me is MM300)

I've had both.... for your work, darth. Love the mm300 but it's pretty shiny.

MM300 is pretty shiny but no more so than the Sub. As much as I love the looks of the Darth, black watches just never stay on my wrist very long.
You give respect, you'll get respect - you just don't know your place.
Re: TORN - MM300 or Darth Tuna?
i've owned the mm300 (twice) and it's a great piece, just ended up feeling too tall for its diameter (twice).
darth is cool as hell, but i'm not nearly badass enough to pull it off

Re: TORN - MM300 or Darth Tuna?
If my MM was strapped on right now, I'd stop by the Seiko Boutique for you and snap a quick comparo pic of the Darth Tuna. But with a G-Shock on, they'd laugh me out the door...may have time to try tomorrow, though I'd bet you might have already resolved this by then.
In all seriousness, I still say you can't go wrong with a well-cared for MM300 to be worn as intended.

Don't buy either and avoid the regrets.deepcdvr wrote:.. as soon as I buy one, I'll wish I'd bought the other
How about something more affordable?

MM300 is too heavy, buy the Darth.
Maybe consider a SBBN017 regular Tuna if you are not too much into the blackness, and get a bit of both.

Paul - you are a WUS!!! (probably the only time I'll be able to say that!)
My vote is MM300. I've tried on a few Tuna's and while I love the idea, they just seem like they are trying too hard. No disrespect to those who wear a Tuna daily, but in my mind, wearing a Tuna is kind of analogous to those guys who drive around in civilian Hummers. It certainly draws attention, but that can be both good and bad.
You already know the MM300. Put it on rubber or a NATO and it'll hold its own against anything. On the bracelet with the ratcheting clasp it won't look out of place with a suit and tie.
Fundamentally, you either want a watch that is the opposite of the Rolex GMT (Tuna) or a watch that is an alternative that can serve in place of the Rolex (MM300). Deciding that point should cement your decision (you WUS!)

My daughters opinion "The steel one is nice and can be worn with anything. The black one looks cheap and boring"
.
Re: TORN - MM300 or Darth Tuna?
Thanks to all (and your daughter
Pics would be great!
I've had both and the darth was honestly more fun to wear but the MM was more serious, imo
I have at least a dozen black watches and several "suit" divers as well. Just can't decide. I suspect that when I have money in hand, the first one available will be purchased lol...
Again, sorry for the WUS post

I've owned both more than once. Love them both. If I were still on active duty, I'd get the Darth without hesitation.

That one appears to be bead blasted. I would keep the original finish and think that it would look 100X better.andrema wrote:marchone wrote:Dark Gray DLC MM300 a la IWW FTW! Some guy on WUS did one years ago. It was stellar.
