Seiko SRP775 thoughts

Post by toxicavenger » Mon Apr 11, 2016 10:17 am

This watch rocks!!!!!! I do have a little chapter ring misalignment but I love everything else about this watch. For the longest time I thought they used some like lume dots for the dial, wrong. What it is the lume pods are gold surrounds on the dial and then lume is put into it. Then it looks like the lume is coated with maybe some UV lacquer (just an opinion) that makes it look glossy. Which might make the lume have some longevity to it and not flake over time.

The "X" on the dial doesn't bother me one bit, in pics it looks bad but not in person. Drilled lugs are a amazing edition to a watch that fits just like the og version imo. Movement operation feels super smooth when winding it (4r36 is a smooth movement), I did grease up the threads on the crown though. I think I will take the bezel off and lube up the gasket on it also. It works good just I think it could be better.

All in all it is so worth the money and it could be a "only" watch for me if I had to (like Chris said also).

The only thing I would change if I could is a big bezel pip like the og version.

Cool T. The X never bothered me. Cool shoes BTW.

Agree with your sentiments. The "X" doesn't bother me at all also, but is less noticeable on this model.

Take a urinal pic. You're getting soft Terry - nobody likes a soft Terry.

Cool shoes. Nice NAFT.
I'm trying not to buy a 777. At least not before I sell other 6309's I have.

Some 775 fever here on the Dub. Been wearing mine non stop since I got it Saturday. The best sub $250 watch purchase I've had.

Looks much more expensive than it is which is a pro or con depending on who you are.

Lume is great and I was surprised at the applied surrounds. Saw the 775 in person when I checked out Chris' a few weeks back and knew I had to get one.

Chapter ring is a bit off but not enough to bother me.

Bezel action is almost perfect, only very minimal play.

Mine has lived on ToxicNatos and ToxicRubbers. Haven't been tempted to try it on the bracelet yet.

My favorite part of the 775? The 4R36 has been running within COSC specs since I wound it up; +1 consistently. Better than my Pelagos :(

 Jealous.......mine's settled in to anywhere from -4 to -10 depending on what I do. It' not a daily wearer so no big deal.

Having a 777 I agree with Terry's sentiments. Adding the domed crystal and switching the second hand really changes it for the better too. Duarte fixed the slight chapter ring issue mine had when he install the crystal. It's a modern 6309. It's perfect on zulu's too.

Love my 775. You need to swap out the crystal for a dome.

I went with the double dome and it's pretty low also.
