Why does that thing look so perfect on the wrist (esp. NATO'd up; that's fantastic), while the 3mm larger Oris 65 seemingly comes off as a "little princess" watch?
At any rate, that Alpinist looks good.

I always liked that watch, but never bought one because I didn't think it looked good on ANY strap. Until now. Damn, it looks perfect on that nato!

I thought it was too small too (I have 7" wrists), but my gf really loved wearing it (hers are slightly under 6.5")
Re: Sarb017 Alpinist: the perfect all around affordable for
Prices are great on them. I'll have one back soon

Gf saw this pic now and wants me to buy it again for her
Re: Sarb017 Alpinist: the perfect all around affordable for
Very nice watch. Totally agree. Would have held onto to her but I have an affinity for chunkyness (I like big butts and I can not lie....)

I’ve recently become infatuated with this watch but Im pretty sure it would be too small for me. I’m tempted to try one anyway.

I have to remind myself that I literally sold it the same day it arrived.
I remember the green sunburst dial being more olive drab and muted rather than that vibrant emerald green seen in most pics. I wonder if I got a bad batch?
I still want one back to give it a worthwhile (>12hr) chance.

What did you think about the size? Too small?

No because I have smaller wrists (6.75) but I do remember thinking it was pretty stout

My wrists aren’t huge. I’ll try to track one down.sierra11b wrote:No because I have smaller wrists (6.75) but I do remember thinking it was pretty stout

Looks pretty chunky.

It looks fairly thick, but I’m worried about the length. That’s the main reason I rarely wear my 556.JP Chestnut wrote:Looks pretty chunky.

I've read LTL is 45-46

That is really short. It will probably look silly on me.r.palace wrote:I've read LTL is 45-46

Maybe not. Just saw this post on WUS and he says he has an 8" wrist.

Might be the angle of the picture. Hard to believe a sub 40mm watch with short LTL wouldn't look small on a larger wrist

What is the thread title? I can’t follow the link because I’ve been locked out of WUS on Tapatalk since the password update.59yukon01 wrote:Maybe not. Just saw this post on WUS and he says he has an 8" wrist.

It's in the Seiko forum titled "Official Seiko SARB017 Alpinist thread". That picture was the last page or two I think.CGSshorty wrote:What is the thread title? I had one of those and passed it on. I sold it both because it felt smaller than I prefer and because it just didn’t hold my attention. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice watch. It just wasn’t my style, both dial and style of hands.
The angle has to make it look big on an 8” wrist. It felt small on my 6-7/8” wrist.
The green was a deeper color. Def not emerald. I’d call it Spruce.
