Petre/Terpits could do the add, put a DWC'ers face on the brochure and post it here, while waiting for a light to change in rush hour traffic.

Good point. This is what I'm thinking.

They're coming, fellas! We've seen this movie from Seiko before many times with the similarly leaked ads. Not to mention they love to run similar handsets for awhile on a particular movement. In this case they are due to release the rally diver with the same hands on a 4r36 this Winter.

My blind fanboism, especially for this model, likes to think they're stepping up their game in a big way. :)

On second thought, I couldn't care less if they make these.

Hell, I already have a 6309, hacking with Saphire  ... and it doesn't have a freaking X on the dial

I will have to see real photos of these when they come out. If they look better than those catalog photos, might be the first new watch I will have bought in years. Anyone know the price? That might be a turn off.

$250 to $300 is what I've read so far.

Edit...also just read this on WUS. More misdirection maybe?

just an update. SRP773 SRP775 SRP777 SRP779 will be released this December while the SRP787K1 and SRP789K1 will be released in May/June 2016.

I just sent an email to Kobayashi to try and get to the bottom of this asking to pre-order the SRP773.

I'll keep you posted once I get a response.

Wife was ready to purchase one for me today for my birthday and I don't want to let this opportunity slip by.

From Kobayashi:

"Thank you for contacting.

For those outside of Japan model, not on the market in Japan.

SBEX003 will be released in November.

Best Regards."

Appears to a non-JDM model. I sent attached pictures in the email so he seems aware.

Like the SBEX003 plug... Quick, someone contact MM300!

So now that we know (at least I didn't before) this isn't a JDM model where can one get or pre-order one?

I've never actually bought a Seiko from USDM or any other market before.

I got an email from Higuchi this morning and he also confirmed that these will be available only outside of Japan. Rob van Monsterwatches posted on WUS that they have been announced to be coming to the Netherlands as well so I think that these can be ordered from him. Or check with the big online seller creationwatches and/or skywatches?
Regards,
Mario

A new 6309? I'm in. As much as I've said I don't mind the X logo, I don't care for it on this. But I'll live with it. What's next, a reissued 6105? Oh, and one last hope is that they upgrade the rubber strap like they did with the Tunas.

Jeff: Would you pick this new one over an actual 6309?

Serious question as I'm curious and thinking about that myself :)

I would. I did a stint with vintage watches, and I love the idea of them, but I really prefer wearing a modern watch with vintage looks.

Interesting. Thanks Jeff.

I only have one 'vintage' which is my 6309 and I haven't taken it diving, not sure that I would. Though it was tested when Jack worked on it so I really should perform just fine. But I've worn it for pretty much everything else, from cycling to gym to motorcyle riding, even offroading.

But I understand that there is always that slight concern in the back of the head about 'should I really use this watch for it' :)

Bjorn, you really should get rid of that old worn out 6309 and get a nice new one.

PM me so I can help you get there. :)

Me too! They're due for another 6r15 diver and this re-issue makes it totally plausible.

A 6105 with 6r15 and stoplight hand would be a grand slam.

I agree. Love the 6309, but concerned about timekeeping, Water resistance and lume. All of these would be addressed on the new version.... maybe not the timekeeping......

Such perfect timing. I've been saving cash for my next purchase, I know where that cash is going now :)

I think I'll also pick one up for my son. He's graduating 8th grade end of this year...could end up being a really nice heirloom type piece if he takes care of it.
