Another Rally Diver Re-issue

Post by sierra11b » Sun Sep 06, 2015 4:09 pm

Saw these on another forum. I can live without a cushion case but those hands really should have been the straight-style racing type like their predecessors... I'm interested in the blue one and hope it's just a matter of seeing one in the flesh to appreciate the design and value.

Could be a fun watch regardless with the 4r36 if the price is right. I've been thinking about getting back a beater of the SKX variety and must admit this has given me a moment of pause.

A close friend and BMW enthusiast pointed out how they remind him of the school BMW Roundel which is pretty cool!

Hmmm. Not as cool as the old cushion case. Hands... Not sure. Let me think about it.

Agreed.

Like I said, as someone thinking about getting back an SKX any one of these should be a lot more fun to wear.

And I actually don't mind the Seiko5 badge unlike most of here... Has more history than most brands these days and I've never found it to distract from the overall aesthetic in the flesh. Pictures maybe.

I'm fine with the 5 badge. It's kind of silly but who cares so long as I like the watch.

The silver dial may win out as it has the black outline on the hands. Just gotta wait for the real pics.

Me too but I've been hopeful for a blue dial original (or earlier re-edition) off recon from a good seller. Problem is they NEVER come up so this will have to do.

Some pics are up. I hate how these new owners NEVER seem to let you know where they got the watches.

I think they look pretty cool! Might be worthwhile to try swapping the hands for a racing style similar to my 6139. I wonder if they would fit?

According to the the owner these came in at the ~$120 range with the 4r36  Here's hoping the 6309 re-issue comes in around that!

These are fun. I like the blue and the black one on the right.

Yep.

Would be a good work watch for me. I might be in on one if I knew where to get one.

If it's the $120 I think I can live with the measly Seiko 5 branding.

It almost appears applied from the photos.

I think the 5 has always been applied. For those who don't like it, it has been removed before, but it leaves two holes behind for the logo's locator pins.

Haha I just sold a non-running grey dial rally diver yesterday. Didn't know they were coming out with e reissue.

Same thing happened to me selling my Omega Speedy 4.5, soon after, they made a re-issue.

Do you have a 6105 or 62MAS to sell?
