I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. The sbdx001 sits pretty high on my wrist so flattening the caseback could lower it a bit. The 6159-7001 came with a flat caseback and imho so should the sbdx001 plus the caseback of the sbdx007 looks very very nice:dnslater wrote:The current caseback is actually integral and concave, curving around the wrist. It's definitely been discontinued. I know because I saw it on WUS. For several years now. I kid, I kid. But seriously Eric, your premise makes sense to me, and I do think that since they're revamping the Tuna line, a facelift for the MM300 isn't unlikely.

THAT ^^^ makes me want to club a baby seal. Fucking unoriginal assholes. It's not even trying to be original or add a single original element to an existing design. It's just a blatant ripoff copy.

According to the WUS cognoscenti, Seiko has just released the SBDX017, upgraded version of the 300MM. It has an "X" signed crown, some type of diashield on the case, an improved strap keeper, and lume that is "60% brighter". Price increase of 20,000 yen for it. If they are correct in what they report, then this will at least make it easier to figure the age of a watch whose serial number begins 58xxxx.BSears wrote:How's about we stop posting silly ass threads like this UNLESS and UNTIL it actually happens or there is official news of it.

It's true. The 017 has been available since 8/8. The 001 is officially discontinued. Time for a new rumor.namor wrote:According to the WUS cognoscenti, Seiko has just released the SBDX017, upgraded version of the 300MM. Yup, came out a few weeks ago or so. There's a thread over on WUS about it and a few members have picked one up. Haven't seen a side by side with the 001 yet though. Apparently it uses MEMS parts in the movement as well which is supposed to be more durable .namor wrote:According to the WUS cognoscenti, Seiko has just released the SBDX017, upgraded version of the 300MM. If Seiko makes its lume any brighter, doesn't it risk blinding people?jswing wrote:It's true. The 017 has been available since 8/8. The 001 is officially discontinued. Whatever happened to that guy who was obsessed with the MEM parts? Every post he made had something to do with them.
