Pretty sure he got banned. You can find him discussing MEMS parts on the WUS Seiko forum now and then.

I've only seen a handful on bans on this forum. It takes a lot (even Art's OS300>Sub shit show only resulted in a timeout).

According to the WUS cognoscenti, Seiko has just released the SBDX017, upgraded version of the 300MM. It has an "X" signed crown, some type of diashield on the case, an improved strap keeper, and lume that is "60% brighter". Price increase of 20,000 yen for it. If they are correct in what they report, then this will at least make it easier to figure the age of a watch whose serial number begins 58xxxx.
It's true. The 017 has been available since 8/8. The 001 is officially discontinued. Time for a new rumor.
If Seiko makes its lume any brighter, doesn't it risk blinding people?
I think a step up would be radioactive active lume

I thought that was the point of that youtube video. It's from the movie "The Jerk."

On edit: I wasn't calling you a jerk, if that's what you thought.

If calling people names got you banned, this forum would be AtomicTom and... nobody.

True. He called the wrong people names I guess. And annoyed Chris. He hasn't made too many friends at WUS either.

I actually loved the 20mm lugs personally.
I prefer taper to 20mm, but 20 at the lugs has never felt right to me even for <7 inch wrist. I've never graced my wrist with an MM300 though.

I thought for a second I banned that dude. I see it wasn't me. Now I feel the need to ban someone just to reinforce my a-hole status. By quoting me, Seth is definitely on my radar. :stir:

I kid! But seriously, did, in fact, Seiko announce the SBDX001 was being discontinued? Or is it merely supposition based on the release of the SBDX017?

And screw that "X" signed crown. I'll keep my unsigned crown SBDX001 thank you very much. Now get off my f'n lawn.

It's practically unsigned in person, though you're right it's not great in macro shots.
