My First MM 300
Re: My First MM 300
Congrats on the MM300!
I actually prefer a good pin and collar system to screws. I do own screw bracelets and did have one near mishap due to a backed-out screw on my wife's DJ even though I check her watch every week or so. And yes, I use loctite.
The otto frei pin pushers make it an absolute breeze and they're only $15... I also use a set of forceps to pull the pin out the rest of the way, any hard surface to drive the pin back 90% of the way, and the pin end of the bergeon spring bar tool to make it flush with the link. I'm willing to bet I can size a pin and collar bracelet in half the time it takes someone to size and apple loctite to their screw-type now.

I agree.CesarG wrote:The caseback/monocoque case doesn't get mentioned much. To me, that's one of the best casebacks ever.

TR you've made me miss my MM300. Lovely watch.
I see you have 2 of my old Seikos- I'll look for a waffle strap, I may have one.

Re: My First MM 300
I'm surprised that you never owned one! I found the MM to be top heavy on the bracelet, but loved it on the IsoFrane! Congrats, Tom!
Re: My First MM 300
Congrats! Looks great on canvas. I wore mine on canvas and Iso. Would love to pickup another one or an LE 012.
Re: My First MM 300
way to go, Amigo... glad the PITA pin/collar tips worked out
Drew canvas surely rocks the MM300 when the bracelet comes off
gonna get my bracelet ready for when I hit the FL surf in a couple weeks

Agreed. I actually just noticed that two days ago. Monocoque cases are the business.CesarG wrote:The caseback/monocoque case doesn't get mentioned much. To me, that's one of the best casebacks ever.

Although the 857 does indeed tempt me, I am going to hang onto the MM for now.hoppyjr wrote:It's a crappy watch TR, I'll trade you my Sinn 857 and take this mess off your hands....
