Ah, this is what we came to see.

The dial has a bit of a sunburst effect.

I also bought the leather strap with deployant from Seiya's site, but I am not a fan of its overly shiny appearance. I ordered a black calf Hirsch to use with the Seiko deployant. I'll post pictures of the Seiko strap and deployant in a bit.

Overall I am very happy with the watch, but it is so understated it is a bit underwhelming, especially after just removing a bright orange watch. It is fairly light weight and very comfortable on the bracelet. This watch is definitely about the small details and I think it will feel even more at home on the wrist once I get the new strap. This is the first non diver I've bought in 5+ years and I'm enjoying the change.

That's a great looking piece Heath! If they made one in 42 mm I'd be thrilled, but my monkey arms just won't work with this size. I looks fantastic on you

Love it Heath. I've got a feeling I may be underwhelmed a bit when mine arrives for the same reasons you mentioned, especially after taking off the Shogun. I'm hoping I'll get used to the size though. May just leave mine on the bracelet for a bit. Did you find the smaller clasp with fewer micro adjustments to be an issue?

The clasp is strong and very well constructed, but I do wish it was slightly longer so it could have one looser micro adjust spot.

Very nice watch. I think "clean" is a very accurate description as mentioned above.

This is one of those classically styled watches you could wear for a lifetime and never be out of place.

The sale of the Tuna was in no way related to this purchase.

This one just keeps getting better as I wear it. It has a true three link bracelet that has an unusual construction that makes it look like an H link from the underside. The end link is like the Sumo, the spring bars hold the end link to the bracelet which means the first hinge point of the bracelet is closer to the watch so the bracelet seems to fit the wrist better. The clasp hinge isn't the usual pressed design Seiko typically uses. I know dive watches are the most popular with watch enthusiasts and a number of affordable Seiko divers have small weird quirks, but stepping out of the diver realm I feel like I found an affordable Seiko without any of the usual drawbacks. It even has a sapphire crystal.

I just realized I didn't include a shot of the clasp assembly. I'll take one soon.
