The Sumo is a really great watch, no doubt about it, but it doesn't really compare with the Shogun other than using the same movement. There has been lots of discussion on WUS about the cost/value difference, so you can catch up on the drama there. In fact, the Shogun is an entirely different level of watch and one doesn't really understand why until seeing it in person.

Ed's right on this. Until you handle one you won't be able to appreciate how well the Shogun is put together. I've owned the Sumo and other than the movement they are very different watches.
