Shogun Week On DWC Continues
It seems like half the Shoguns out there have made their way into the hands of DWCers over the past week, and I can now add one more to the mix. Just arrived, basically BNIB, and it looks great. A NATO is my favorite look for the watch already, but the bracelet is pretty nice too. I haven't tried the rubber strap yet.
My first impressions are that it's a great watch for the money. The crown threads are a little rough, and I wish the bezel was a bit firmer, but otherwise I'm impressed. The dial and hands are very nice in person, and the "Monster" hands look great in fact.

Good looking. Especially on NATO.

It's very stiff and uncomfortable. I guess it can be boiled for a better fit.

How about an Isofrane?

It works fine on Iso. These are shots from my first Shogun, last year. Sorry about the quality.

I tried the Isofrane. It was OK if you have to have rubber, not great. Kind of like putting an Isofrane on a Sub.CGSshorty wrote:How about an Isofrane?
This watch screams NATO/Zulu when not on bracelet.

It is better than other Seiko rubbers for comfort but a true dive strap. Ridiculously long on me.dshap wrote:CesarG wrote:Did you try the rubber strap?

I will try and post pictures later.

I would say they work. Still don't love them but they do not overpower and ruin the watch.

I really like the bracelet on this watch for comfort. NATO is great too, but it sits a little high for my taste due to the relationship between lug/springbar height and caseback.
Bracelet construction is cheap, though. It utilizes the same "fake 3-link" construction as the MM300, and the pin-collar system is touchy at best and doesn't inspire a ton of confidence/security.

9 days from Singapore. I guess that's not bad, but it seemed like a long time because I was very excited to get the watch.

Nice one David.
Looking great on the nylon.
All these Shoguns around are making me want to try one.
