Real men...

Post by mattcantwin » Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:03 pm

don't wear mesh. :naughty:

I just completed a very successful trade with Mark.

(he is a real pleasure to deal with  )

I was looking for something different and traded my DeBaufre Pepsi GMT for his Seiko orange Sumo (with a sapphire crystal).

This is my 4th Sumo, I've already had the black and the blue (twice).

Only "problem" is that it came on a mesh bracelet (Mark's pictures below)

Nothing wrong with the mesh, just have never been able to wear it.

Now the hunt begins for options to the mesh (it also came with a both a black and an orange nato).

I am looking for something "different".

(there is where Chris would say, get over it and put it on a black Isofrane or Gnomon black zulu and end of story)

I may get a Yobokies anvil bracelet (will have to decide on either a 20mm or 20mm bracelet) with the fitted end-links.

I didn't like the OEM bracelet better than the anvil, which I have had previously.

I currently have it on a gray/green nato just to tick everyone off while I decide what to do for real.

Love the orange, congrats!

Some men do wear mesh - Remember that video of Wu in a mesh T-shirt, singing "I'm too sexy...." ???

Terry's got some mesh panties too (so I hear) ;)

That would probably look really good on a BOR bracelet. I think they're making them with fitted end links for the Sumo now.

Edit: here's a pic (not mine). Harold sells them

Just ordered the BoR bracelet, Matt, thanks again.

I asked Harold which size he likes better for the Sumo (the one pictured is 20mm) and he said the 22mm.

I took his advice and ordered the 22mm version.

I am still going to look for some different (other than black) natos to try, too.

Here is a shot of the links from Harold's post at WUS, looks very sharp.

(this bracelet has the straight ends)

^^^THIS. Been there, done that. Got the t-shirt (no really, a Seiko Prospex t-shirt). Best combo out there, following only remotely by the BOR bracelet. And I dig mesh but I would take the Sumo on MM clasp every day. Kinda wish I still had that watch frankly.

I think the mesh looks OK. I like the BOR. I like nato. Probably some leather too. On MM clasp. Lots to choose from.
